  Description

  Diani is a beach resort in Kenya with a thriving kitesurfing scene, diving, snorkelling and a host of other watersports along it's 17km stretch of white sandy beaches.
  
  We run, the first permanent coliving in Kenya, based in Diani. It accommodates digital nomads and solo travellers from around the world. We have 7 rooms as part of the coliving, along with a small pool and vegetable garden. The veggies are grown for our pizza restaurant, which is one of the best in Kenya rated top 10 in Diani and top 10% on the coast.
  
  We also run a local school outreach programme. Our outreach co-ordinators organise school visits for our guests to give careers talks and help improve IT access for schools.
  
  The town also has a vibrant bar and restaurant scene with everything from Swahili dishes to fresh sushi. Just down the road you'll find the Columbus Monkey Conservancy and we have great contacts with travel agents if you were looking to bolt on a trip to the Masai Mara for a safari as part of your trip.
  
  We provide accommodation with WiFi in a private room adjacent to the coliving. It's located within a secure compound. We would also offer of course access to the coliving, coworking, plunge pool and small air-conditioned gym.
  
  You'll be able to connect with locals in Kenya and get to understand how to work in a new culture as well as meet a vibrant group of digital nomads working and travelling around the world.

  We have a team on site of 10 people including managers, chefs and security. Our amazing in-house chefs, office teams and security team from all around Kenya. With them you can get as immersed into the local culture as you like.
  
  If you work on the schools outreach programme you will also be able to get a unique insider perspective on the Kenyan education system and the challenges that it faces in modernisation.

  Aide

  We are on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to help create content for TT/IG/YT about the coliving and the area. Come for a week, enjoy the coast, snap some photos, reels etc. :-)
  
  You can also get involved in our schools outreach programme where we are trying to improve the awareness of the value of IT skills and access in the local area. Helping our local team with the outreach program we're trying to set-up where we want to get our nomads into local schools giving careers talks.
  
  We also want to launch an open source book printing initiative but first the school relationships. This needs some co-ordination and support for one of our team members;
  
  We have a Duty Manager Role on staff that rotates around the senior members of the team depending on who is on site. The Workaway member will be helping directly with the director who is also based in Kenya at our place.

  Our team are fluent English and Swahili speakers. We also have german, french and some other languages spoken amongst some of the staff. If you want to learn Swahili it's an easy language to learn and you will be able to speak to around 500 million people you couldn't communicate with before :-)

  Hébergement

  We offer your own private room/studio which is in a secure compound adjacent to the coliving. We have a restaurant on site where you can choose which meals from our mealbox/in-house ready meals you would like. This includes vegetarian options.

  Autres infos...

  We have pushbikes on site as well as a small motoscooter (think southern europe old people) which you can use during the day. If you need some coaching because you're rusty/new to bikes we can help with that as long as you have a normal driving license.
  
  We also have an air-conditioned gym which you can use and a small pool. We live in the same compound as the Workaway flat and are always around usually in the team office or building exciting things like our next project which is a barrel raft.

  Born on our building site Chui likes climbing trees hence her name.

  Still just a kitten (and Chui’s younger sister). She has had cat flu since birth so basically can’t smell. Not the brightest of our pack but she’s very friendly albeit a somewhat smelly.
  
  

  

  Oreo & Cookie (2 ans)

  Oreo & Cookie are lovely. However, it seems very clear they only share single brain cell between them. Very friendly.
