  Description

  We live in the Castelo Branco region/ Central Portugal since 2020. Covid brought us here and we fell in love with the area. We bought a piece of land (4 ha) and want to live a simple self-sufficient lifestyle. It is a long way to get there but with time and help we will manage to do so.
  
  Us, that`s Michael originally from Israel, Nadine from Germany, our son Luan (3 1/2 years) and our daughter Alma (1 year).
  
  We`re passionate about gardening. We love food (cooking, baking, preserving) and creating a self-sufficient sustainable home.
  We would like to increase our organic food production this year what means we need help with preparing garden beds, planting and sowing.
  
  We mostly have household projects going on, doing handicrafts, yoga and playing games. (at the moment not so much because of the new baby)
  
  We enjoy the company of the greater likeminded community around us and also appreciate our peaceful safe heaven.
  
  We're living quite secluded but there is always something going on if you feel like hanging around with other people.
  
  Our projects vary from gardening over projects to landscaping. We`re always open for new projects and ideas which enriches our life and the land. As we just started our off-grid homestead lifestyle we`re always interested in sharing experiences and learning new things.

  As we are a multicultural family there will be always a cultural exchange. We like to exchange experiences with you, sharing meals and having a nice time together.
  
  You can experience a simple lifestyle in harmony with nature far away from the stressful city life.

  Aide

  For the upcoming Season we mainly need help in cutting trees and firewood, finishing some projects we already started (play area for kids), making compost,clearing land and general maintenance.
  
  We would like to have help in the garden. That either can be preparing garden beds, planting, weeding,
  etc.
  
  Other tasks could be planting trees, creating swells, cooking, everything what´s coming up to maintain the land and create a little paradise.
  
  If you have any specific skills let us know and you can apply them here with us.

  We would like to learn more Portuguese and we are always happy to improve our English. In exchange we can help you with German (I used to teach online) and Hebrew.

  Hébergement

  We can provide a caravan, a tent, a place to park your own Van/Campervan or just a spot on the land (hammock, mattress, etc. in the warmer season).
  Our outdoor kitchen, where we prepare our food, hanging around and sharing our meals is always open for you.
  Our facilities are basic. We have a compost toilet, hot shower and a nearby river, where you can have a bath also (preferably in summer)
  In the winter month we can offer a hot bath under the stars.

  Autres infos...

  We`re living at the base of the beautiful historical Village/ Mountain Monsanto, what`s definitely worth a visit. There are also several lakes around and a lot of nature.
  
  Preferably you have your own transport to get around the area. But no worries if not, we can arrange something and the locals are happy to take hitchhikers. We also can offer bicycles if desired.
  
  We have Wifi, solar power and running water from our borehole.

  We can provide solar power to charge phones and computers and we also can provide a good working internet connection in our communal area and caravan.

  We love animals and they are very welcome. If we accommodate you in our caravan pets need to stay outside.
