  Description

  We are Catarina and Sharma, a Portuguese and Sri Lankan couple. We currently run a popular brunch café and we are now opening a NEW surf hostel in Mirissa, Sri Lanka. We love to meet new people, socialize, and have fun! Our guests are mostly tourists looking to have a chilled time and learn how to surf. We are located 5 min walk from the beach and close to several shops and other restaurants.
  We have a small team of 3 people working on site, the owner/manager, the room boy/housekeeper and the cook that is in charge of preparing breakfast and family dinners. We are all young and live in the area.

  You will be surrounded by fellow travellers, have the opportunity to share travel stories and practice many languages. You will be working with Sri Lankans and be able to learn about their culture, values and language.
  You can develop social media and managing skills, valuable to run any hospitality business.

  Aide

  We are looking for someone who is dynamic, extrovert and pro-active, loves to connect with other travellers, share travel stories and have a fun time.
  
  We need someone to help us with:
  - Welcoming guests and help them to get comfortable and get around
  - Being a social host (motivate guests to join activities, games and taking guests to parties)
  - Creating content for social media (take photos and videos of fun moments and activities around the hostel)
  - Helping guests with any queries or help they might need
  - Communicating any issues with staff
  
  Most of the work will be during afternoons and nights but occasionally you might be asked to join for surf lessons in the morning or some days there could be a day out (to visit a waterfall, do a beach cleanup or visit a nearby place)

  Our hostel has 2 mix dorms with 8 beds each, one 6 bed dorm and a 4 bed dorm. It's a fun, laid-back environment surrounded by palm trees and monkeys, just a few minutes walk to the beach

  During your workdays and your days off you will have the opportunity to explore the south coast of Sri Lanka with guests, enjoy surfing lessons, participate in fun activities such as snorkelling, karaoke, cooking classes.

  Russel (2 ans)

  Russel is a BIG baby. He loves cuddles and belly rubs, thinks he is the size of a chihuahua and will ask for more cuddles every time you stop.

  

  Bro (1 an)

  Bro is a small, cute street dog that we adopted when we found him living on a street with no food, now he's living his best life in our cafe. He is very independent, likes to go out and about, and enjoys cuddles in small doses.
