Description
We are a family of 4 living off-grid in a little walloon village. Our town is 5km away from the Eau d'heure lakes. Our straw bale house is on a little piece of land crossed by a creek, surrounded by meadows and forests.
We try to make as much as we can ourselves. We are very interested in things that are low tech and obviously respect the environment.
Here are a few things that we do: cheese making, bee keeping, organic food growing, sheep and chicken farming. We have many other projects to come.
We try to make our place a peacful place to stay where one can share on better ways to live.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

I think we can say we are an open happy family. So far, just like many others. If there is something not as common. It's our homestead. Living off-grid is a lifestyle we believe is worth sharing. We got inspired by people we met on the way and we would be thrilled to inspire others.

Here is how a normal day would be: We start working together at 8:30, 9 am for 3-4h. Then we have lunch separately and you have the whole afternoon to yourself (we might be away from home at that time). It's the occasion for you to go on an excursion for example. We meet again at the end of the day for diner all together. That will be the perfect time to chat, exchange stories and if we have the energy we can play cards and have a drink.
Regarding the type of tasks we could do together: gardening, looking after the veggie patch, painting, artistic work or cheese making.Langues

You will sleep in a 20sqm off-grid cabine. You will have your own stove, tap and compost toilet. Regarding the shower, it is outside, hot water depends on how the sun heats up the hose. If it's too cloudy, you might have a chilly shower. In that case you could still heat up water on the gas stove. It's a bit "camping style", that's part of the experience.
Beware that for internet, you will rely on the 4G network. As for access to electricity, charging your phone or laptop isn't a problem. Let us know if you have other device that are more powerful like a hairdryer.Autres infos...
We are a 20min bike ride from a train station, 30min bike ride from the lakes and surrounded by meadows and forests. There is a shop at the farm in the village (open on fridays and saturdays only). For all the other gorceries, it's 5km away.

You were really helpful and easygoing. You came at the right time to harvest our raspberries. We appreciated your initiatives: like showing us that raspberry/chia jam recipe and the danish specialty that I am not able to pronounce the name.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip.
