I thank Cheng-Wei very much for his help in my house and garden. He made and cut my wood very carefully. it looks perfect!! He also disovered the city on his own wiht his bike.
Also he cooked us nice meals, and bought and made bubble tea, because my kids wished it.
sometimes it was a bit difficult because Ceng-Wei is from his culture very polite
… read more and wants to do alright , but we in Germany just say what we think and want. but this was a great experience how different cultures are, I think it is a good experience for all of us.
I was really suprised when two month after Cheng-Wei visit I got a package from him, with a wonderful calender with amazing bird-pictures. He is really a professional photographer!!!!! thank you sooooooo much and all the best for you!!!!

Javier is a very nice man. He saw what is to do without telling him and did the things from my to do list very quickly and perfect. He cared about the Kids, had a very good contact to them from the first moment and was very creative. He is an excellent origiami man, cook, houseman,teacher and gardener!!!! My garden looked perfect very quickly.

Virginia was in my house for three weeks. She was very nice and we had a lot of good conversations and activities.
She was really interested in us and our feelings. Sorry that I couldn't go so often in the city, because of my kids. ;-)

She helped me a lot in the household, only with my kids it was maybe sometimes a bit exhausting.

Rosa is an extremely sweet and kind person, she made me feel at home right from the beginning and was patient with my German, which took a while to set off (and it did thanks to her!). She also taught me some delicious recepies and inteoduced me to the art of the
… read more "do it yourself at home" :D Her children are also sweet and very lively, you gotta have much energy to deal with them! ;) I also got the pleasure to get to know Rosas parents and stay with them in their awesome house for a week. There I really improved my German and had also the chance to feel German! I thank them all, for the experience they gave me.

My first workaway experience was very particular... :D
I was with Rosa for about ten days and it was really fun and I enjoyed staying there a lot. She is a very gentle person and she did her best from the beginning to make me feel at home... She even bought me once "prosciutto di parma :P"... She lives with two wonderful very young children, Henok
… read more and Helen with whom I had a lot of fun... They're absolutely sweet and even if I had a lot of difficulties understanding German at first, also Henok (6 years old) did his best to teach me the language... Rosa lives in a wonderful calm place which is 10 minutes of bus from the city center of Nürnberg... Plus the buses run to the city very often so the connection to the city was absolutely easy. She has a nice and quite big garden, but the work I did there was not too tiring... I worked every day around 4-5 hours and I did various thing but she also gave me a couple of free days to visit the city which is pretty cool and interesting, there are a lot of exibithion of Art ecc.
After these days she went to Slovenia because she had the holidays already booked, so I moved with the children to her parents, Monica and Bruno... There I got the chance to really really improve my German and I am so thankful to them for this... They were super patient and gentle with me and gave me a lot of inspiration to learn it... Ich habe auch Der Schatzgräber von Goethe auswendig gelernt! :D
I stayed with them for other 20 days circa and then I went to Berlin for another expierience...

I stayed two weeks with Rosa and her children and every day I felt like home because they make me feel a part of their family. It was my first experience and I am happy it was with them. I helped in the house and with the children but it never seemed like "work".

Alina was in our house for two weeks. From the beginning on we all liked her very much and when she left us, we were really sad!! Alina is a very very lovely and kind person, she is a brave, creative and ambitious girl with a beautiful charisma. … read more very good contact with my children, who liked him very much. He also built two wonderful footballgoals from recyling materials for my son, wich are used nearly every day and look wonderful and unique.
Since Xabi had been staying with us, we feel more pleased in our garden because everything looks better now.

That was my first experience in Workaway and i spent two weeks with Rosa and her children. It was a really nice experience where I learnt a lot about the german culture. Rosa was very friendly and open minded, and I had a lot of fun playing with her children also.
The house was in a very nice and quiet place and I could even borrow an old bicycle
… read more to go to the city center, which was very nice. I worked gardening and a little with wood, and I found the project she had in mind very interesting, I hope it does not get stuck. I appreciated a lot your kindness and hope to meet again in the future.
