  The foundation's main objective is to transform society's relationship with animals. It addresses social and cultural challenges related to the strong entrenchment of traditional values that harm animals and nature. Therefore, the volunteer program focuses on animal care and raising awareness about the importance of their needs and their physical and mental well-being.
  
  La fundación tiene como principal objetivo transformar la relación que la sociedad tiene con los animales. Se enfrenta así a desafíos sociales y culturales que tienen que ver con una fuerte consolidación de valores tradicionales que perjudican a los animales y la naturaleza.
  Por ello, el programa de voluntariado gira en torno al cuidado de los animales y a concienciar en la importancia de sus necesidades y su integridad física y psíquica.

  The foundation's main objective is to transform society's relationship with animals. Here, you'll live alongside animals rescued from situations of exploitation or extreme abuse, and you'll have the opportunity to be part of their new story. Every task you perform, from preparing their food to cleaning their enclosures or simply spending time with them, will have a real impact on their well-being.
  
  Life at the sanctuary will also allow you to connect with nature and discover a way of life based on respect, empathy, and cooperation. It doesn't matter if you've never interacted with animals before: the most important thing is to come with a desire to learn, help, and be part of the team.
  
  In addition to acquiring new skills, you'll meet people from different countries who share similar values, experience a cultural exchange, and forge genuine friendships.
  
  However, I don't recommend choosing this volunteer opportunity if your intention is to have free accommodation while sightseeing in Madrid: we're in the mountains, 90 km from the city center. This isn't the place for you. Now, if you truly care about animals, this is a place where you can contribute a great deal… and receive even more than you can imagine. We welcome you with open arms to become part of this family and help give our animals the dignified and happy life they deserve.

  La fundación tiene como principal objetivo transformar la relación que la sociedad tiene con los animales. Aquí convivirás con animales que han sido rescatados de situaciones de explotación o maltrato extremo, y tendrás la oportunidad de formar parte de su nueva historia. Cada tarea que realices, desde preparar su comida hasta limpiar sus espacios o simplemente compartir tiempo con ellos, tendrá un impacto real en su bienestar.
  
  La vida en el santuario también te permitirá conectar con la naturaleza y descubrir una forma de vida basada en el respeto, la empatía y la cooperación. No importa si nunca has tenido interacción con animales: lo más importante es venir con ganas de aprender, ayudar y formar parte del equipo.
  
  Además de adquirir nuevas habilidades, conocerás personas de diferentes países que comparten valores similares, vivirás una experiencia de intercambio cultural y crearás amistades auténticas.
  
  Eso sí, no te recomiendo elegir este voluntariado si tu intención al venir aquí es tener alojamiento gratuito para turistear por Madrid: estamos en la montaña a 90 km del centro de Madrid. No es tu lugar. Ahora bien, si de verdad te importan los animales, este es un lugar donde podrás aportar mucho… y llevarte aún más de lo que imaginas. Te esperamos con los brazos abiertos para que formes parte de esta familia y ayudes a dar a nuestros animales la vida digna y feliz que merecen.

  At our sanctuary, we believe that caring for the animals also means caring for the people who make this project possible.   We like to create a work environment based on respect, communication, and mutual support. We'll always be available to teach you, answer your questions, and guide you in your learning, even if it's your first experience at a sanctuary.
  
  The volunteer program focuses on animal care and raising awareness about their needs and dignity as sentient beings. Tasks are centered on restoring their well-being and respecting their right to live free. Responsibilities include feeding, hygiene, ensuring their comfort according to their individual needs and limitations, assisting with their transport, and keeping their living spaces clean to safeguard their physical and emotional well-being. Furthermore, as the sanctuary grows and develops, volunteers can also participate in maintenance projects, such as painting, assembly, carpentry, minor repairs, and other facility improvements.
  
  We value commitment and a willingness to help, but we also understand the importance of enjoying the experience: sharing, conversing, laughing, and meeting people from different parts of the world. We love learning from our visitors, exchanging cultures, ideas, and experiences, and knowing that there are others who share our purpose.
  
  We hope that when it's time to say goodbye, you won't feel like you're leaving a place where you've worked, but rather a home you'll always want to return to.

  En nuestro santuario creemos que cuidar de los animales también significa cuidar de las personas que hacen posible este proyecto. Cuando llegues, no serás simplemente una voluntaria más: pasarás a formar parte de nuestro equipo y de nuestra familia durante el tiempo que compartamos. Queremos que te sientas bienvenida, escuchada y valorada desde el primer día.
  
  Nos gusta crear un ambiente de trabajo basado en el respeto, la comunicación y el apoyo mutuo. Siempre estaremos disponibles para enseñarte, resolver tus dudas y acompañarte en el aprendizaje, sin importar si es tu primera experiencia en un santuario.
  
  El programa de voluntariado se centra en el cuidado de los animales y en la sensibilización sobre sus necesidades y dignidad como seres sintientes. Las tareas se enfocan en restaurar su bienestar y respetar su derecho a vivir libres. Las responsabilidades incluyen la alimentación, la higiene, garantizar su comodidad según sus necesidades y limitaciones individuales, ayudar a trasladarlos y mantener limpios sus espacios vitales para salvaguardar su bienestar físico y emocional.
  Además, a medida que el santuario crece y se desarrolla, los voluntarios también pueden participar en proyectos de mantenimiento, como pintura, montaje, carpintería, pequeñas reparaciones y otras mejoras de las instalaciones.
  
  Valoramos el compromiso y las ganas de ayudar, pero también entendemos la importancia de disfrutar de la experiencia: compartir, conversar, reír y conocer personas de diferentes partes del mundo.   Volunteering includes accommodation at our facilities, in a house with two shared bedrooms, a shared bathroom, a large kitchen, a living room, a terrace, and a garden. Meals are not included, as we do not have staff dedicated to this.
  
  Each volunteer must bring their own clothing and food. No animal products are allowed. This includes:
  
  1) Food items: nothing containing meat, fish, eggs, milk or dairy products (cheese, butter, whey, etc.), honey, or preservatives of animal origin (E-920, E-1105, etc.).
  2) Cosmetics (shampoo, conditioner, etc.): products that are not tested on animals and do not contain animal-derived ingredients (keratin, collagen, glycerin, or lanolin).
  3) Clothing: nothing made of fur, suede, leather, silk, wool, or other materials (cashmere). 4) If you are a smoker, no tobacco products tested on animals are allowed. The only brands that do NOT test on animals are: Manitou, Horizon, Pueblo, Domingo, and Pepe. These can be found in any tobacco shop.
  
  🔸 We also do not allow any other products tested on animals. You can check which brands test on animals by searching for them on PETA's website:

  🩶 🔸 You don't need to bring: water, sheets, towels, or cleaning products. All of these are included in the accommodation.

  El voluntariado incluye alojamiento en nuestras instalaciones, en una casa con dos habitaciones compartidas, baño compartido, amplia cocina, salón de estar, terraza y jardín.
  
  La comida no está incluida en el voluntariado, ya que no disponemos de personal que se encargue de dicha labor. Cada persona voluntaria debe traer su propia ropa y comida.
  
  NO pueden entrar productos de origen animal. Esto incluye:
  
  1) En alimentación, nada que contenga: carne, pescado, huevos, leche ni derivados (queso, mantequilla, suero lácteo, etc.), miel ni conservantes de procedencia animal (E-920, E-1105,...).
  2) En cosméticos (champú, acondicionador, etc.), que no estén testados en animales ni tengan ingredientes de origen animal (queratina, colágeno, glicerina o lanonina).
  3) En vestuario, nada que esté fabricado con piel, ante (anterina), cuero, seda, lana u otros (cachemir).
  4) Si eres fumador, ninguna marca de tabaco que esté testada en animales. Las únicas marcas que NO testan son las siguientes: Manitou, Horizon, Pueblo, Domingo y Pepe. Se encuentran en cualquier tabaquería.
  
  🔸 Tampoco se acepta la entrada de otros productos testados en animales. Puedes comprobar qué marcas testan o no poniéndolas en el buscador de PETA:

  The sanctuary is 90km from Madrid. Volunteers can take a taxi to the next town, where they can catch a bus to Madrid. The journey takes approximately an hour and a half.
