  • Description

We are a family of four who are returning to Fiji to establish a small tourism “village” retreat that shares a true, grass-roots Fijian experience with travellers; whilst providing a source of income to our family, the local landowners. We currently have four acres on the cusp of Rakiraki Village with potential to expand but right now we are in our (very!) early days in development.

With so much potential for growth we are excited to see how this exchange can mutually benefit the landowners and travellers, as well as all those who join our family as we get the “village” off the ground!

Our project works directly with locals. It is owned and operated by a local and is in close proximity to a local village. Every aspect of this project is Fijian, so there is no more authentic cultural experience.

  • Aide

As we are in the very early days of development we are after skilled workers who can help with building our caretaker’s residence, infrastructure, utility facilities, Cafe and dormitory building/s. We are also converting 4 acres of land which was formerly used for agricultural purposes (sugarcane) into what we envision will be a tropical oasis of local flora and fauna. And with direct access to the ocean via mangroves, there is a lot of creative potential and a need for skilled landscapers.

  • Hébergement

Accommodation is in either local family homes in the village or the retreat itself (depending at what stage the development is at).
You will have a private room with either a single or double bed (depending on availability), as well as a communal living space for travellers only. We have provided photos of some of the rooms available.

In terms of food, guests are welcome to use kitchen facilities for breakfast and lunch. Dinner will be provided, and will generally be a range of Fijian traditional meals and Western meals. Special meal requirements will be accommodated for in most instances.

    Autres infos...

Rakiraki is a gateway to many tourism attractions. The biggest attraction is world class diving across Bligh Waters. There is also epic fishing for tuna, Spanish mackerel and mahimahi offshore. Day trips to beautiful nearby islands is also a must. There is also hiking and waterfalls in the dramatic mountainous landscape nearby. The project had direct access to the main road, making it easy to access public transport. Nadi internatinal airport a three hour drive away and Suva (capital of Fiji) is also three hours away (in opposite direction).
