SEAN: I am a visual artist and musician, originally from New York. I began traveling when in university through study abroad programs, first in Italy and then Peru. I fell in love with Peru and spent several years dividing my time between there and the states. During one of my trips, I did an artist residency in the amazon highlands. I ended up staying on for nearly year after my residency to help run the place while the owners traveled. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I learned a lot of invaluable skills during this time.

I have been in Spain as an English language auxiliary for the last 8 months. It has been another truly incredible experience that is taught me a lot.

LINDSY: I'm a visual artist from the same town in upstate New York. I'm interested in a variety of different kind of art making (painting, beading, photography, ceramics, weaving, etc.) but at the moment I am focused on simple black and white ink paintings and graphite drawings. Sean and I both came to the Canary Islands as ESL teachers through a Spanish government program. My goal in coming here is to improve my Spanish and to get a sense of how I can move abroad long term. I've traveled extensively in Nicaragua and Costa Rica where I have family but this is my first time traveling to Europe and I can't wait to see so much more. I love being outdoors in nature, in the company of animals, and making and trying new foods.

In our free time we both really enjoy listening to music and watching interesting movies and documentaries.

We both have experience painting houses and have familiarity with tools and basic construction projects. We've both spent a lot of time working in the food industry, the arts sector, and in education with teens, adults, and children. SEAN: Soy artista visual y músico, originalmente de Nueva York. Empecé a viajar durante la universidad a través de programas de estudios en el extranjero, primero en Italia y luego en Perú. Me enamoré de Perú y pasé varios años dividiendo mi tiempo entre allí y Estados Unidos. Durante uno de mis viajes, hice una residencia artística en la selva alta amazónica. Terminé quedándome casi un año después de la residencia para ayudar a administrar el lugar mientras los dueños viajaban. Fue una de las mejores experiencias de mi vida y aprendí muchísimas habilidades invaluables durante ese tiempo.
He estado en España durante los últimos 8 meses como auxiliar de conversación de inglés. Ha sido otra experiencia verdaderamente increíble que me ha enseñado muchísimo.

LINDSY: Soy artista visual del mismo pueblo del norte del estado de Nueva York. Me interesan muchos tipos distintos de creación artística (pintura, trabajo con cuentas, fotografía, cerámica, tejido, etc.), pero en este momento estoy enfocada en pinturas simples en tinta blanca y negra y dibujos en grafito. Sean y yo vinimos a las Islas Canarias como profesores de inglés a través de un programa del gobierno español. Mi objetivo al venir aquí es realmente mejorar mi español y entender cómo podría mudarme aquí a largo plazo. He viajado extensamente por Nicaragua y Costa Rica, donde tengo familia, pero esta es mi primera vez viajando por Europa y tengo muchísimas ganas de conocer mucho más. Me encanta estar al aire libre en la naturaleza, en compañía de animales, y cocinar y probar comidas nuevas.
En nuestro tiempo libre, ambos disfrutamos mucho escuchar música y ver películas y documentales interesantes.
Los dos tenemos experiencia pintando casas y estamos familiarizados con herramientas y proyectos básicos de construcción. También hemos pasado mucho tiempo trabajando en la industria alimentaria, el sector artístico y la educación con adolescentes, adultos y niños. Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We are both artists with experience in arts education, residency support, and hands-on property work. Our backgrounds include coordinating arts programming, supporting residency operations, art handling, and maintaining creative spaces.

We are very comfortable contributing in a practical, day-to-day capacity. This includes property maintenance, painting, basic construction support, cleaning, cooking for groups, laundry, and general assistance to help residency operations run smoothly. We are reliable, adaptable, and genuinely enjoy supporting shared living and creative environments.

We are native English speakers with conversational Spanish (approximately A2 speaking, B1 comprehension), and we’re able to manage day-to-day communication while continuing to improve.

Somos artistas con experiencia en educación artística, apoyo en residencias y trabajo práctico en propiedades. Nuestros antecedentes incluyen la coordinación de programas artísticos, apoyo en operaciones de residencias, manejo de obras de arte y mantenimiento de espacios creativos.

Nos sentimos muy cómodos contribuyendo de manera práctica en el día a día. Esto incluye mantenimiento de propiedades, pintura, apoyo básico en construcción, limpieza, cocina para grupos, lavandería y asistencia general para ayudar a que las operaciones de la residencia funcionen sin problemas. Somos personas responsables, adaptables y disfrutamos genuinamente apoyar entornos creativos y de convivencia compartida.

Somos hablantes nativos de inglés con español conversacional (aproximadamente nivel A2 al hablar y B1 en comprensión), y podemos manejarnos en la comunicación cotidiana mientras seguimos mejorando.
