Description
I am an elderly lady who lives alone on the island Dønna. My house is located close to the sea. I have 3 wery active sleddogs (Samojed) and husky who need a lot of training. That's why I prefer physically strong volunteers. But I also need help in the house, as well as in the garden and with painting work.
I offer traditional norwegian food and I have an own room for you.
I speak little English. It would be an advantage if you speak a little Norwegian. I have a bike you can borrow if you want, you can learn how to knit and fish in the sea (if the weather is good).
I prefer if a volunteer can spend here at least 2 weeks.

You can get to know how we live on the coast of Helgeland, get to know the people of the island and eat traditional norwegian food, experiences historical places and a rich wildlife.

On the time off you can go sightseeing among our thousands of islands. You can go watching historical places. You can do fishing, climbing mountains or take photos. I have a bike for you.
The Helgeland coast with more than 20.000 small and large islands is excellent for an active holiday, where you come close to a rich animal and bird life.

Astrid was with us in January for around 2-3 weeks. She trained my 4 polar dogs by walking and by tricycle. She fed the dogs morning and evening and they enjoyed it. She worked a lot with birch wood in the garage. Otherwise, she took part in various chores around the house. She is a kind and decent person whom I would recommend

I visited Solaug and Bella, Maya,Aisa And Arya in January for around 2-3 weeks and I loved my time there. I miss the mornings feeding the dogs and getting greeted with so much joy and enthusiam. It was my first workaway experience and I am grateful that it was with Solaug and her dogs ( they are the most amazing creatures, already miss them ). It was really pleasant to work with Jana. She is mature and responsible and did an excellent job. She painted outdoors a lot and afterwards she could go on mountain walks. One trip is over 800 meters high.

I had such a good time :-) Really enjoyed spending time on Donna with Saulvag and her lovely dogs. I painted the house and explored the area - which is beautiful.
