Description
We are a UK family currently living in Cape Town. We travel home for 6 weeks every June/July to see family and friends. We hate leaving our two goofy dogs behind but have no choice.
We are looking for house/dog sitters when we travel back to the UK. It’s not the peak hot season in Cape Town but there’s still a lot to see and do and our dogs much prefer their walks when it’s not blazing heat.
We live in a leafy, green part of Constantia, near some beautiful vineyards and close to shops; we have a gate from our garden into the local forest so walking the dogs is easy. There is a car you can use and the dogs can be left for a few hours quite happily if you want to go and explore the city/sights of Cape Town.
We have a gardener, a cleaner twice a week and our house is rented so there’s no work that needs doing on the property other than feeding the fish and house sitting the pooches.

Cape Town is consistently voted one of the best cities to visit in the world and you get a chance to live it, not just do the tourist stuff. Although not the warmest months June and July are when the whales pass through and you can often see them from the shore.
Table Mountain looms in the distance from our garden. The Cape Fynbos you find there is a unique eco region only found in the east and west cape.
If you wanted to volunteer on any township projects when you are here there’s plenty you can do for a few hours a day such as helping with reading and maths in homework clubs, the dogs would be OK on their own for a bit.
Aide
Dog sitting and walking. The dogs are big, hairy and goofy but very loyal once they’ve accepted you into their pack.

Hébergement
We have a big house with a beautiful garden. We will lock up some of the bedrooms but our guest room is large and comfortable with a super king bed and an en-suite bathroom. Our cleaner comes twice a week and needs picking up and dropping off at the bus stop (just over a 5 minute drive away).
There’s an outdoor pool but it may be a bit cold to jump into in July - depends how crazy you are!
We have a separate study outside of the main house if you need to work or study from home.
Autres infos...
Public transport is almost non existent in our suburb. We will leave an automatic car for your use.
I don’t need to list the local sights - it’s Cape Town, there’s so much to see and do. Incredible hikes, a vibrant (and affordable) foodie scene, views to die for, vineyards, whale watching, Table Mountain, Robbin Island, fantastic local markets.
