  Description

  Hi, my name is Tijaa, I'm 63 years old, and I live in the Taro Valley in the province of Parma in a large house among chestnut trees, 3 km from the asphalt road. To get there, there's a path to walk, and the last stretch involves crossing the river, and heavy loads can be transported by hand-cranked cable car. The house has no electricity hookups (no bills!): we heat and cook with wood, spring water, minimal electricity from a small solar panel, an unstable phone network, and a compost toilet in the woods. I'm looking for a close-knit couple or two friends with solid rural experience and the ability to manage their own affairs. I'm looking for a long-term cohabitation (minimum 3 months, but much longer if we find ourselves together), based on self-production, sharing time, space, and knowledge, and respect and care for the environment. I offer accommodation in exchange for help in the garden, in the woods, and with the house. Children and dogs are welcome.
  
  Ciao, mi chiamo Tijaa e ho 63 anni, vivo nella Val di Taro in provincia di Parma in una grande casa tra i castagni a 3 km dall'asfalto. Per arrivarci c'è un sentiero da percorrere a piedi e l'ultimo tratto prevede il guado del fiume e i carichi pesanti possono viaggiare su teleferica a manovella.
  
  La casa è senza allacciamenti (niente bollette!): ci si scalda e si cucina a legna, acqua di sorgente, minima elettricità da un piccolo pannello solare, rete telefonica instabile e compost toilet nel bosco.
  Cerco una coppia o due amici affiatati, con concreta esperienza rurale e autonomia gestionale, per una convivenza a lungo termine (minimo 3 mesi, ma ben più a lungo se ci si trova), basata sull'autoproduzione , la condivisione di tempo, spazi e conoscenze, il rispetto e la cura del luogo. Offro alloggio in cambio di aiuto nell'orto, nel bosco e nella ristrutturazione della casa. Bambini e cani sono i benvenuti.

  What I can offer, beyond hospitality, is sharing what I've learned in over thirty years of living in the mountains and forests. I'm always open to learning about other methods and experiences that are useful in both rural and non-rural contexts.

  Hébergement

  A shared kitchen, a private room, no running water in the house, and an outdoor compost toilet. The kitchen is shared, and part of the food comes from what is grown and what grows spontaneously around the house (herbs, wild vegetables, wild fruits, chestnuts, mushrooms, etc.), while anything that isn't produced or harvested is purchased collectively in the nearest village.
  
  Una cucina in comune, una camera privata, niente acqua corrente in casa, compost toilet esterno.
  La cucina è condivisa, una parte del cibo viene da ciò che viene coltivato e da ciò che cresce spontaneamente intorno alla casa (erbe , spontanee, frutti selvatici, castagne, funghi, ecc...) mentre ciò che non si riesce a produrre o raccogliere viene acquistato collettivamente nel paese più vicino.

  Those arriving by public transport, take the train to Ostia Parmense and continue from there either by taxi or by Prontobus to Casoni (Loc Baselica). The Prontobus can be booked the working day before the day of transport by calling 840222223. Then there is a 3 km stretch on foot.
