Description
🌱 Welcome to Our Agro-Farm & Ecotourism Project in the Heart of the Himalayas! 🏞
Namaste from Musure village, a hidden gem in the Melamchi Valley, Nepal! We are a small but passionate local initiative working to revive and revitalize our community, which has been deeply affected by emigration and economic hardship. Through organic farming, ecotourism, and holistic living, we aim to create a model of sustainable rural development that reconnects people with the land, tradition, and community spirit.
We live in a peaceful and scenic area surrounded by mountains, forests, and fresh air — the kind of place where time slows down and nature invites you to reconnect. Our home is just a short distance from breathtaking trekking paths, traditional villages, and hidden gems— perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to explore authentic local life.
You'll love the slower rhythm here: quiet sunrises, meals with local produce, and evenings under the stars. It's an ideal spot to unwind, be creative, or get involved in meaningful hands-on activities with a strong community feel.
Our project combines:
- 🌿 Organic agriculture and local seed preservation
- 🧘 Yoga and mindfulness practices in nature
- 👩🌾 Workshops and training for villagers and youth
- 🏡 Development of authentic eco-tourism experiences
- 🤝 Cultural exchange to bridge global and local wisdom
As a Workawayer, you will be part of our family—helping with daily farm work, supporting local training events, sharing your own skills, and experiencing the incredible hospitality and natural beauty of rural Nepal.
Come help us plant seeds of change—and be part of something meaningful.
👨👩👧👦 About Us
We’re a small, open-hearted family passionate about sustainable living, cultural exchange, and community empowerment. You’ll be part of our daily life — whether it’s helping in the garden, preparing food, or supporting local community projects. We believe in mutual respect, shared learning, and good conversations.
We also collaborate with local staff or community members.
The main active and responsible person of the project are:
Myself, Rabindra and my family, Federica, Kevin and Greta. We are based partially in Italy and partially in Nepal. Musure and the Ramche Woods - il Bosco di Ramche, is the place where I was born and lived until 14 years old after which I left during the Maoist War. My family lives there, my mom and dad, who is operaring the local mill.
Suman, a mountain guide who shares his knowledge of the region.
Iswor also a moutaing guide who lives in the area, Yoga teacher and developing in his place a beautiful homestay with yoga practice retreat.
Dipu , the expert with lot of knowledge in agriculture and farming, Ramchandra, teacher and well established in the education sector.
Everyone you meet here will make you feel part of something genuine and grounded.
We’re excited to welcome curious, kind, and creative souls into our world — and we’re sure you’ll leave with unforgettable memories and new perspectives. 💛Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

✨ Cultural Exchange & Community Life 🌍
We love the idea of Workaway because it brings people from around the world into our everyday life — and for us, that's incredibly enriching. When you stay with us, you're not just helping with daily tasks — you're becoming part of a community.
🤗 Social Life & Community Connection
We often share meals together, go on local walks, and take part in village activities when possible. There may be opportunities to join in on small festivals, visit local artisans, or simply enjoy chai on the terrace while watching the mountains turn gold at sunset.
When other volunteers or friends are around, we sometimes organize simple cultural evenings — music, storytelling, cooking together. It's all about sharing moments and making real connections.
🛠 Skills We Share
- Insights into sustainable tourism and how to travel responsibly
- Basic Nepali or Italian language
- Cooking traditional meals from our culture — and learning yours!
- Community project planning and facilitation
- If you're interested in trekking, we love sharing mountain stories and guiding tips too!
💡 What We Learn from You
Every person brings something unique. Hosting Workawayers allows us to see our own world through new eyes — to question our habits, to hear new ideas, and to grow as a family and as a project. Whether it's learning a new recipe, hearing about life in your country, or practicing English, it's always a two-way exchange.
So come as you are — curious, open-hearted, and ready to experience life off the beaten path. 🌱Aide
👨👩👧👦 Who We Are
We’re a small family passionate about sustainable tourism, cultural exchange, and meaningful connection. We’re involved in local community projects (like education, eco-tourism, and cultural preservation), and we also host guests as part of a broader vision to promote responsible travel.
👣 What You'll Be Doing
As a Workawayer, you’ll support us with a mix of hands-on tasks, depending on the time of year and your interests:
- 🛠 Light DIY and eco-construction (helping maintain a guest house or community space)
- 🌱 Gardening and outdoor tasks (permaculture, planting, composting)
- 📚 Language exchange or educational support (especially if you know English or Italian)
- 🍲 Cooking & sharing recipes (we love exchanging cultural meals!)
- 🧘🏽 Helping organize small community activities — like yoga sessions, trekking tours, or storytelling evenings
- Develop and Maintain local trekking routes with signals and mapping
👐 We Work Together
Most of the time, we’ll be working side-by-side. We believe in learning from one another — whether it's how to plant a herb garden, bake flatbread, or talk about sustainable tourism. There's a lot of room for creativity and initiative. If you have a skill you'd like to share (photography, website support, crafts), we’re always open!
🤝 What We Offer in Return
- A meaningful cultural experience with local insight
- Simple, cozy accommodation
- Daily meals (often shared with the family)
- Time to explore the area — from local festivals to hidden treks
- A chance to contribute to a broader vision of sustainable community living
If you're curious, kind, flexible, and enjoy being outdoors and hands-on, you’ll feel right at home here. 🌍Langues parlées

🛏 Accommodation & Comfort
We offer a clean and secure place to sleep — either a cozy private room or a shared sleeping space, depending on availability. If we’re out in nature (like during community camps or trekking projects), we provide tents and basic bedding, and we make sure everything is set up to be comfortable and safe.
🍲 Food & Mealtime
We usually cook and eat together — it’s one of our favorite ways to share cultures! We provide 3 simple, home-cooked meals a day, mostly vegetarian, using fresh local ingredients. We’re happy to accommodate basic dietary preferences or restrictions, just let us know in advance. Sharing food is a big part of the experience here, so you're welcome to bring recipes from your own culture too!
We want you to feel at home, safe, and nourished — in both body and spirit 🌿Autres infos...
🧭 Free time, transport & living style
🌿 What you can do in your free time:
During your time off, there are plenty of opportunities to explore the natural beauty and culture of the area. You can:
- Hike to nearby viewpoints, waterfalls, or sacred lakes
- Visit local temples and learn about traditional rituals
- Join a local family for cooking or farming
- Meditate in peaceful surroundings or practice yoga in nature
- Enjoy reading, journaling, or stargazing around the fire
- Help us document and photograph nature or daily village life (if you're creative!)
If you’re trekking towards Panchpokhari, it’s a rural mountain area, so it’s a great chance to disconnect from tech and reconnect with nature and yourself.
🚗 Transport options:
We can help arrange transportation from Kathmandu to the project area (via local bus or jeep depending on your budget). The journey can take 3-4 hours depending on road conditions, so we recommend arriving with flexibility and an open mind.
Locally, most movement is on foot — so be prepared for light trekking or village walks. It's part of the charm!
🏡 How we live & house rules:
We live simply and respectfully, in harmony with nature and the rhythms of local life.
🔸 We value community, sustainability, and cultural respect
🔸 Cleanliness is important — please keep your space tidy
🔸 Respect quiet hours in the evening
🔸 Alcohol is discouraged during working or trekking days
🔸 Please dress modestly in villages
🔸 We expect Workawayers to be open-minded, flexible, and kind
We're not a formal organization — we're a family and community network, and you’re invited as a friend and contributor 💛Informations complémentaires
