  Description

  I have just bought a house with some land and a ruin. I would love a little help getting the place up and running- the house is modern and functioning, the ruin is not. The yard was just grass, I am slowly removing it all and planting it with flowers and veg. There is a cat/garden panther, he requires some care and attention.
  Murtosa is a pretty amazing and unheard of spot. It is right between Porto and Aveiro. I am around the corner from the lagoon, where there is terrific kayaking, and a bike ride across the bridge over to the beach. If you love being on a bike this area is famous for it. There is a grande route that encircles the entire area. It is quiet, you hear only the sound of birds and the occasional tractor.
  I have traveled the world and am now slowing down a bit. Perhaps when I have fixed up more spaces next door I will have a big, boisterous group of workawayers, but for now it is a quiet spot. Perfect for those who work well alone, or come with their own group.

  The social side is tough! There are tons of things to do in Aveiro and Porto as well as loads of surf spots up and down the coast. I have just moved from Porto so I am just learning about the local area.
  This is probably a perfect spot if you are coming with friends or have some contacts in the area. I will be working a lot in Porto so its better for people who are independent.

  I know that everyone has their niche, I think it is all about finding what you are good at.
  I need help with just about everything:
  Construction of compost bins/ vermiculture, composting toilet, outdoor shower, cottages
  Gardening: grass removal, planting, trimming
  Cooking: Anything helps

  Housesitting/petsitting
  
  I am happy to teach some English, but may or may not be working alongside you.

  You'll have your own bedroom in the house with a shared bathroom.
  You are welcome to bring a caravan or tent, there's good spaces here.
  
  All staples will be provided: Rice, beans, pasta, condiments, tea and coffee. A stipend will be provided for fresh vegetables and other necessities.

  There is a train station in Avanca that is on a line that goes to both Porto and Aveiro. And there are bikes available for use. There's also a regional bus that stops nearby.
