    Description

We are a German-Filipino family who has called the Philippines home for over 14 years.

Our dive center and resort specializes in introducing divers and underwater photographers to rare and unique marine life. We pride ourselves on educating visitors about the fascinating small creatures that inhabit our waters - from the beautiful to the bizarre. Our focus is on distinctive invertebrates (cephalopods, nudibranchs, shrimps, crabs, etc.) and elusive fish species including pygmy seahorses, frogfish, and pipefish, rather than larger marine animals.

Nestled oceanside in a small village, our property is embraced by gardens and forests. Our intimate beach features beautiful mangrove trees and lush sea grass fields, creating a serene work environment.

We're conveniently located in Barangay Lonos, a short distance from Tiamban and Bonbon Beach, with Romblon Town just 10 minutes away by local transportation.

For digital nomads and tech-savvy travelers, we offer robust connectivity through both fiber optic WiFi and Starlink internet.

We're currently seeking assistance with software and workflow updates, making this an ideal opportunity for those with computer backgrounds.

Experience with social media management and website development would be valuable, though not required for all positions.

    What you will gain
By joining us, you’ll immerse yourself in the wonders of our marine ecosystem and the warm hospitality of Romblon Island.

    - Learn about extraordinary marine creatures, ocean conservation, and the daily operations of a specialized dive resort on a serene, non-touristic Philippine island.
    - Actively participate in regenerating degraded soil and building a permaculture garden that supports sustainable food production. Spend meaningful time in nature, working in the garden and surrounding forest while contributing to long-term ecological restoration.
    - Enjoy authentic island life away from mass tourism: pristine nature, excellent swimming spots, scenic hiking trails, and world-class diving/snorkeling.
    - After your morning work (finishing around noon), your afternoons are free to explore the island, go swimming, hiking, relax on the beach, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
    - Our reliable fiber optic + Starlink internet connection is available for your personal use.
    - Opportunities to join swimming and snorkeling excursions when space allows (scuba diving available at discounted rates for WorkAways).
    - Experience genuine Filipino culture, visit local markets with us, and form meaningful connections with the exceptionally welcoming local community.

We’re genuinely excited about this cultural exchange! Whether you bring practical hands-on skills, creative design ideas, a love for gardening and nature, or simply a willingness to help, you’ll contribute meaningfully while discovering the beauty of Romblon and learning about marine life.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, we look forward to hearing from you!

Help needed at our boutique scuba diving resort on Romblon Island, Philippines

We own a small boutique resort (10 rooms) specializing in unique diving experiences focused on rare marine creatures and underwater macro photography.
We are looking for enthusiastic WorkAway participants to help during our low season with two main areas:

    1. Resort maintenance and general support
General repairs and maintenance: painting walls, fixing furniture, gardening, and light construction work.
If you have skills in welding, plumbing, electrical work, or similar trades — very welcome!
Office tasks: scanning, filing, organizing, labeling, and basic computer/internet work.
Important: WorkAways will not be involved in regular resort operations such as housekeeping, kitchen duties, or guest service — these are handled exclusively by our local staff.

    2. Creating a permaculture garden on a degraded slope
    - Clearing weeds and undergrowth
    - Terracing and leveling the ground
    - Planning, researching, and designing the garden layout
    - Planting, watering, and ongoing maintenance among other tasks
Design/planning skills, gardening, and permaculture knowledge are especially appreciated!

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 7:30 AM to 12:30 noon (including a coffee break).
Timing is flexible — some days are busier, others lighter.

    Autres infos...

Romblon Island is located at the end of the Verde Island Passage, which has the nickname “the center of center of biodiversity”. You might want to visit Bonbon Beach, Tiamban Beach or San Pedro Beach or tour the island by motorbike or tricycle. Maybe you like to see our marble crafting artists or swim at a waterfall. You can hike the hills and forests or visit nearby islands by boat. From Romblon Island it takes only 2 hours by ferry to reach Sibuyan Island with the majestic Mount Guiting Guiting. Sibuyan is also known as “the Galapagos of Asia” due to the amount of rare and endemic species in the Natural Park around the mountains.
