  Description

  If you feel connected to nature as a part of yourself, this is the place were you'll feel at home.
  We are a herd that have been traveling together and decided to stop and give love and let love grow. Ixchel, the youngest, is a cat from Mexico. Flora a dog born on this earth. Bruno and Vale, we both do circus, this project is also linked in that way with the community of Carmelo. Bruno works as an informatic and Vale as a social anthropologist as well.
  We are doing this permaculture project 'cause we think is important to start building other kind of relations between humans and the universe that sorrounds us. We started this small project in a space within a family plot. As an idea, this project was born in Nicaragua and began to become a reality in Colonia Estrella, 5 km from the center of the city of Carmelo.
  We started the project by building the Blue Hummingbird House. We are making a garden that needs the help of sowing hands, also doing the walls of the house with earth and recicled bottles. There are many other tasks to do as there are in any house. We believe in a community way of sharing life and organization, so that means that if you see a task is yours, and that we respect the individual moments such as the colective moments.
  We have built the most important places of the house based on permaculture principles, we try to recycle the most we can, try not to bring plastic or things that are not usefull to the land. We have a dry toilet and a camp site were you can sleep. Your ideas are welcome.
  We like to wake up and drink mate in the morning, do yoga; in the night we can share some music or just relax with the fire.
  From the land you can see the Río de la Plata and some quarries where, two beautiful places where you can bathe (7.5 km away). A few kilometers further, the Río de la Plata is born, intertwining with the Uruguay River between the islands of the Delta.
  In the surroundings there are several vineyards and wineries open to visit.

  Si te sientes en conexión con la naturaleza como una parte de vos mismx, este es un lugar dónde te podés sentir en casa.
  Somos una manada que ha venido viajando desde hace un tiempo junta. Ixchel la más joven, es una gata que nació en México. Flora una perra nacida en esta tierra. Bruno y Vale, hacemos circo y queremos que este proyecto se vincule de esa forma también con la comunidad. Bruno trabaja como informático y Vale como antropóloga social.
  Estamos empezando un proyecto de permacultura en un espacio dentro de un terreno familiar. Como idea el proyecto nació en Nicaragua y empezó a hacerse realidad en Colonia Estrella, a 5 km del centro de la ciudad de Carmelo.
  Empezamos el proyecto construyendo la Casa Colibrí Azul usando los principios de la permacultura, tratamos de reciclar lo más que podemos, no traemos plástico o cosas innecesarias a la tierra. Estamos haciendo una huerta que necesita la ayuda de manos sembradoras; también cerrando paredes con barro y botellas recicladas. Hay muchas otras tareas para hacer en la casa como en cualquier otra. Creemos en la comunidad como forma de compartir vida y organizarnos, esto significa que si ves tareas son tuyas, y que respetamos los momentos individuales así como los colectivos.
  Tenemos baño seco, un campamento para que traigas tu carpa. Tus ideas son bienvenidas.
  Nos gusta despertar y tomar mate en la mañana, hacer yoga, en la noche podemos compartir música o relajarnos frente al fuego.
  Desde el terreno se puede ver el Río de la Plata y unas canteras dónde, dos lugares hermosos dónde podés bañarte (quedan a 7.5 km). Unos kilómetros más lejos, nace el Río de la Plata entrelazándose con el Río Uruguay entre las islas del Delta.
  En los alrededores hay varios viñedos y bodegas abiertos para visitar.

  In Carmelo there is from candombe, the traditional music of Uruguay made with many drums, to museums of history, or of tractors, two beaches of fresh water. In the ravine of the stream of cows that enters the beach, is the first human-powered rotating bridge of South America, it is very beautiful to see how they open it, an attraction in the "town". In the surroundings where we live, there are several vineyards, open cellars or typical country restaurants with homemade food, ravioli with tuco, the traditional asado with chorizos, you can go to everything by bike if you like to pedal. At 12 and 16km there are two ruins from the time of the Colonization and Conquest.
  In addition, we can share meals, music, stories, or circus, dance, rituals.
  
  En Carmelo hay desde candombe, la música tradicional de Uruguay hecha con muchos tambores, a museos de historia, o de tractores, dos playas de agua dulce. En la rambla del arroyo de las vacas que entra en la playa, está el primer puente giratorio a tracción humana de América del Sur, es muy hermoso ver cómo lo abren, una atracción en el "pueblo". En los alrededores de dónde vivimos, hay varios viñedos, bodegas abiertas o típicos restaurantes de campo con comida casera, ravioles con tuco, el tradicional asado con chorizos, se puede ir a todo en bici si te gusta pedalear. A 12 y 16km hay dos ruinas de la época de la Colonización y Conquista.
  Además, podemos compartir comidas, música, relatos, o circo, danza, rituales.

  Aide

  We are building the walls of the house -with earth and bottles-, painting windows or taking painting out of doors. Also we do a recycling work -doing pet bricks, compost-. We also need help with the garden, planting trees, taking weed out. Also tasks of a house such as cleaning, cooking, puting everything in order. Our motto is: if you see a task, is 'cause it is yours.
  
  Estamos construyendo las paredes de la casa -con barro y botellas-, pintando ventanas o quitandole la pintura a las puertas. También hay trabajo de reciclaje que hacemos -ladrillos pet, compost-. También precisamos ayuda para terminar la huerta, plantar árboles, sacar hierba. También tareas de la casa como limpiar, cocinar, guardar y ordenar. Nuestro lema es: si ves una tarea, es porque es tuya.

  Hébergement

  We can offer you a place to camp under shade. Depending on how many people come, we can also have a tent for two people, mattress, towels, and bicycles to lend you. We share the common areas of the house, and shower, wich is a house free of shoes. We take care of the water. We devise a day of 5 hours a day, we also offer breakfast and lunch, we have a generally vegetarian diet, eating fruits and cereals, alternated with rice or bread cookies and fruit jams. We avoid salt and sugar at meals; You can ask us or suggest what you want if you have a diet free of dairy, flour or other.
  
  Te podemos ofrecer un lugar para acampar bajo sombra. Dependiendo cuánta gente venga, podemos tener también una carpa para dos personas, colchón, toallas, y bicicletas para prestarte. Compartimos las áreas comunes de la casa y la ducha, es una casa libre de zapatos. Cuidamos el agua. Ideamos una jornada de 5 horas diarias, ofrecemos también desayuno y almuerzo, tenemos una dieta por lo general vegetariana, comiendo frutas y cereales, alternado con galletas de arroz o pan y mermeladas de frutas. Evitamos la sal y el azúcar en las comidas; nos podés preguntar o sugerir lo que quieras si tenés una dieta libre de lácteos, harinas u otros.

  Carmelo is reached by bus from Montevideo (3 hours away), or other cities of Uruguay; it is one hour away from Colonia del Sacramento where you can go to spend the day and visit its Historical Quarter, World Heritage Site. From Buenos Aires you can arrive by boat, one leaves from Tigre that arrives directly here in 3 hours and a half of trip. As we live outside the center of Carmelo, you will have to walk unitl here (from the bus stop is 1.5km).
  
  A Carmelo se llega en ómnibus desde Montevideo (3 horas de viaje), u otras ciudades del Uruguay; queda a una hora de Colonia del Sacramento adónde podés ir a pasar el día y conocer su Barrio Histórico, Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Desde Buenos Aires se puede llegar en barco, sale uno desde Tigre que llega directamente aquí en 3 horas y media de viaje. Como vivimos afuera del centro de Carmelo, tendrás que caminar hasta aquí (desde la parada del bus son 1.5km)
