Description
We need a couole or single person immediately as three workaways changed their plans last minute. Until June 8
And then from July 1 we have one double room available and would love a couple to stay until mid Oct. I have an old electric bike you can use to do uber eats- 3 people have done that here so far and it goes well as you can work around your hours. Or get a casual or part time job near by.
Tasks are some cleaning.. like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting. Gardening, cooking, walking the dogs near the beach or at our huge park.
But the main task is spending time with my 93 year old mother who has dementia.. she can do pretty much everything on her own but really likes company and needs direction so you can play some of the many games we have here or watch tv a lot of the time.
Our spacious and serene home, situated in the picturesque southern suburbs of Sydney (Caringbah South), offers a tranquil environment close to the bay and beautiful Cronulla beaches.
Our household includes two lively four-year-old dogs, Boo and Bear (Pomeranians)- they do bark quite a bit, and two 12-year-old cats, Pippa and Nila. Our residence is surrounded by lush greenery, contributing to a peaceful atmosphere.
Getting round - 5-minute drive to the local train stations or Cronulla beaches. The train station is within a 20-40 minute walking distance, or a 7-minute drive, and buses are also available nearby. I have an available older ebike for use.
Our home features a pool with mineral salts (unheated. Additionally, our water is entirely filtered through a "Complete Home Water Filtration" system, ensuring purity for showers, sinks, and laundry.
As an environmentally conscious individual, I strive for a plastic-free, decluttered, and inviting home. Organic and natural products are a staple, aligning with my passion for sustainable living. While my organic e-commerce shop is currently offline, I still have a variety of organic products throughout the house.
I'm also open to collaboration on restarting my businesses they are all currently offline.
My father was a retired radiologist, and my 93 year-old mother, is a retired primary school teacher from Boston, USA. It's only my mother, myself, Kevin and usually there are 1-2 other workaways here.. my mother is very confused now as she has had dementia for over two years- she likes company and needs direction.
Our home is equipped with solar panels, rainwater tanks, and a small herb garden. Your contribution to our household is not only welcomed but valued as we strive to maintain a sustainable and harmonious living space.
Our house was built in the 70s .. .we recently had the upstairs carpet replaced and a few rooms painted. We only take our shoes off to go upstairs but wear them around the house.

I'd love to learn a few phrases from your country!
My mum spoke Spanish so you can practice with her...we can both help with your English.
I'd love to learn about where you are from exactly, its history and to show me pictures of where you live.
We can teach to Australian jargon and colloquialisms and point out great places to visit near our home and around Australia.

The expected hours for chores are as follows:
20 providing companionship to my mum
5 hours cleaning if needed.
We do ask that couples are ok to work different time shifts as the priority is spending time with her and don’t have enough work for two people to work at the same time.
These tasks sum up to 5 hours a day, and the hours can be divided as needed, 5 days a week with two days off per week.
We provide all food on your working days.

We offer two inviting guest rooms, one featuring a comfortable double bed,
the other has a comfortable room downstairs with a king single bed -shared bathroom with the other workaways.
Our commitment to natural living is reflected in the organic and natural shampoos and soaps provided in the upstairs bathroom, along with natural laundry soap.
Smoking is not permitted, but vaping outside is acceptable.

There is a big park nearby… you can walk down to the water.
National park 15 min drive away longer by PT (public transport)
Cronulla beach is about 7 minutes drive away 40 min walk... there are buses -nice cafes, shopping, new cinema and a beautiful beach.. massive long beach. Hoyts cinema.
Big shopping mall in Miranda that is really nice too with great restaurants and a Events cinema.
You MUST try Messina gelato eat Westfield.. its the best in the world I think and better than any other gelato place in Australia.
So much to do in Sydney!
We have wild possums -birds: Cockatoos, Kookaburras and Rainbow Lorikeets. The birds can be very loud.
Lots of yoga studios around- you can join for a cheap price in packages. $40 for a month at Bhava studio in Cronulla

I had a great time staying with Neri in Caringbah. I enjoyed taking care of her mom who is fun and has a lovely personality. She has a nice home and would often take us on a trip to the beach in Cronulla. This was my first Workaway experience which didn't disappoint. I can only recommend staying with her.

I had a great week with Neri and her parents, all of whom are very sweet, welcoming, and happy to have a chat and give recommendations. I did some household chores (cook lunch, wash up, sweep up leaves, walk dogs) and chauffeuring on shopping missions. All flexible and like being at home.

Karen was very helpful with my ageing parents and was very good at looking after them and helping to improve their strenght

She did so much! She did lots of ironing for clothes I wanted to donate for the fire victims, wept our garage area, helped me sort out so much clutter in my studio and clean up AND helped me with a bit of marketing for Instagram.
