  Description

  Welcome to our slice of paradise near Milnthorpe Park in Golden Bay! We’re Gerard and Patricia (seasoned hosts in our mid-50s), along with Yogi the cat, friendly chooks, a rooster, and two ducks. We’d love to share our peaceful, nature-filled home with you if you appreciate organic gardens, simple living, and stunning sunsets.
  
  Our large property is less than 5 minutes drive from Collingwood and Milnthorpe beach/park, 20 minutes to Takaka, half an hour to the Heaphy Track and 50 minutes to the Abel Tasman Park. We look out towards north-west and have the most amazing sunsets! See for yourself.
  
  The property is not certified organic but we adhere to organic principles. We also own a local Organic Shop which keeps us busy hence a need for help on the property.
  
  There's a lot happening on our land, vegetables gardens, a berry cage, a wonderful glasshouse and countless trees of various species, both for food and firewood.
  
  The buildings are light earth in construction (straw/clay) and all water on the property is gravity rain fed. The glasshouse has solar hot water (two wonderful bath tubs) and a composting toilet.

  As a multi cultural couple we offer an experience and aspect from two different cultures living in NZ . Having had helpers for many years we value and appreciate connecting with people from different cultures and being able to share thoughts and ideas. We are also eager to offer input into activities and experiences that Workawayers can partake in in our part of the world.

  We need help with gardening (weeding, planting, watering ,seasonal harvesting), firewood making, cleaning the buildings, helping with food preparations, and so on. The is often also basic construction and property maintenance work.

  Hébergement

  We can offer you your own very comfortable fully equipped separate accommodation with kitchen and bathroom. This is a separate building close to the main building. It is of "light earth" construction (mud/straw) which makes for a quite unique experience for guests. There are two bedrooms to choose from, either a main room with double bed and en-suite or a connecting bedroom with two separate king single beds and lounge area. A shared country kitchen is connected to these two rooms. It is also used from time to time by the hosts for processing food and washing laundry.
  
  We can supply you with food (seasonal, vegetarian and mostly organic) for making your own meals but enjoy also having some shared evening meals depending on the time of the year and our work load at that time.

  In your free time there are many attractions and walks/hikes/swimming spots to explore. As Golden Bay is renown as a tourist destination demand for accommodation is at a premium for much of the year. At our property the beautiful Golden Bay is at your doorstep to explore.
  
  We chose to live sustainably and in a way that is "easy on the planet". We also choose to eat well (clean), and are non-smokers. We would like to hope that you have an appreciation for similar values.

  We have a Motorhome and enjoy this form of travel around NZ from time to time. We have limited parking space but should be able to accommodate larger vehicles from time to time.
