  Description

  We are one of a few families living in a broad valley in the central Portuguese hills. Not far from Serra da Estrela, we are situated in the granite hills that central Portugal is known for. With oaks, willows, alders and ash as our main forest trees we manage to stay cool even on the hottest days along side the animals that also call this valley home.
  We are a group of 4 adults (31-40) and 3 children (3, 10 & 12) on this land adjacent to a small eco-village of many other families. Here also live 10 chickens, a donkey and a horse, a dog and cats.

  We speak many languages and can offer a diverse cultural experience. We are also musicians and appreciate a good jam :) Besides that, we are parenting children in a way that we feel is a bit outside of the "norm" and believe that just the experience of being with the children is a tremendous learning experience in itself.

  Hébergement

  We are situated along a beautiful river full of trees that provide many wonderful places to put a tent.
  We have a space that can be used as a communal kitchen, a compost toilet and we bathe in the river; no soap in the river, please! We are very flexible with the exchange of work and food .. you can work less and provide some of your own food or you can go full power and we provide the food. This will be worked out on a case by case basis.
  We provide tents and can provide sleeping mats and blankets, but also recommend a sleeping bag :)

  Autres infos...

  Aside from what we offer here at home, there are abandoned villages to explore as well as some beautiful caves within walking distance. Not too far from us is the Serra da Estrela, the tallest mountains on continental Portugal, in addition to many ancient historic sites within short driving distance.

  Our internet is very spotty and not very reliable. Also, since we are still a young project we can provide very little in the way of "office space". Because of this, we recommend you have your own setup if you're a digital nomad.

  If you're travelling with a pet we think that's great. We have animals here on the farm and if your animal isn't used to dealing with farm animals we ask that they stay on a leash until everyone is comfortable with each other :)
