Description
We concentrate on organic farming with an intention to develop into permaculture farm, in a 2 acre piece of land. I have worked on a NGO before and now taking a break to venture in serious farming for animals and plants/vegetables/medicinal plants .
I am venturing in poultry farming and you should expect to see many chickens, few turkeys, ducks and guinea fowls with some goats, sheep, rabbits and dairy cows. We have also plans to start keeping some of the rear poultry or pet poultry like the bantams (silkie) and other breeds like Brahma and buff Orpington chicken breeds. We do have some constructions on and off depending on our funds and when we have a new breed that needs housing.
I am also an artist I do paintings using water colors and pencils for those who love art this might be your home a way from home.
We experience two seasons, long rains and short rains periods where we do mostly farming. We have intense farm activities going on in the months of January to May and September to November. During these rainy season we do a lot of corn, beans pea nuts, cassava, sweet potato and vegetable farming from indigenous vegetables to cabbages, tomatoes, spring onions, carrots, etc.
We welcome help with cooking for the family for those interested in sharing their cooking and those willing to learn new local dishes, we also need help on our Non profit which is addressing some of the community health and environment issue.

Though we are flexible on the kind of work that one does, we let the volunteer chose what interest them and enjoy doing within our scheduled activities.
We need a volunteer to help us on building social media platforms, construction, program planning, teaching, fund raising skills and farming.

We have a free open space for parking, camping, playing and any out door activity. It is a flat field with grass good for camping.

Although, I could only spend a week with the family- it was a great experience living and breathing the subsistence farming lifestyle. I highly encourage this host family for those looking to slow things down a bit, breath in some fresh air and be humbled while doing so.
