Description
The project is located in the rural area of Miacatlan Morelos next to Xochicalco, close to Cacahuamilpa caves, Taxco, and South of Mexico City.
We are building our version of an Earthship with a green house. The Earthship is to house several vital cycles. A vital cycle is based on a water cycle where the plant kingdom and animal kingdom sustain each other. In our cycle we have fish whose droppings nourish the plants. The plants are azolla, papaya, bananas, lemon and a garden in the making. We have the current challenge to make a cycle that includes, 5 dogs, and 9 chickens and us the stewards.
The tasks change regular according to the season. A typical day includes house keeping, gardening, construction collecting wood, working the landscape, clearing the land etc..
Start the day with a hot drink some fruit, bread, take a break for lunch. We have dinner around 6 pm. We have bikes for transportation and days off can be arranged. With plenty of free time.
We need help collecting dead wood to make carbon, clearing the land, making aircreate walls, working on the fence, making compost, housekeeping, cooking, etc.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
We live 2km from a small mexican village which has a market twice a week where we buy our food. We have a view of amazing mexican sunsets and sunrises every single day! We can make tortilla at home (from homegrownmaize) or you can buy them from shops or the factory in town. We cook with local ingredients such as black beans and eat simple traditional food. We are surrounded by sugarcane feilds where you can see the process in action. Exploring the local countryside and towns by bike is always an activity that we enjoy. And local people are always super friendly and smiling!
We offer an offgrid experience, that includes, management of resources for self sustainability. We generate methane gas from our biodigester. We produce compost, charcoal, and learn from our building techniques, and our water cycles.
