Description
I live in Gwanggyo, a clean and modern new town located about 30 minutes from Seoul by subway. My main goal is to exchange languages and cultures with travelers from around the world.
Gwanggyo is a great place to live — it’s peaceful yet close enough to Seoul that you can easily enjoy the city during your free time. There’s a big park nearby that’s perfect for running or relaxing, and the area is full of cozy cafés, bars, and lots of great local restaurants.
When I lived in the U.S., my host parents were incredibly kind and helped me a lot, and now I want to give that kindness back to others through cultural exchange.
When foreign friends visit, I love introducing them to Korean food and sharing Korean culture. I also enjoy language exchange, and since I work as a freelancer, my schedule is flexible — so I can show you around Korea too!
If you’d like to experience not only Seoul but also nearby local cities and see the more authentic side of Korea, you’re more than welcome! I especially welcome female travelers or couples, and families of up to three people would be fine as well.
I’ll be waiting to meet you!
Dear, Claire

I have many friends who are also interested in talking with foreigners, and since I studied in the U.S., I can speak English fluently. When I lived in America, I had wonderful host parents who let me stay in their home for several years and taught me a lot about American culture. As a way of giving back, I’d love to share Korean culture with others. It would be great not only for me but also for my friends to join — we could go on Seoul tours or food tours together!
However, since I’m a woman, I prefer to meet with other women, or couples are fine as well. I might feel a bit uncomfortable meeting male travelers who are alone.

My hobby is filming videos, and I capture moments of foreign friends experiencing Korean food and culture! I’d love your help with that. It’s nothing difficult — we just go to Korean restaurants together, enjoy the food, and have conversations. I usually introduce authentic local restaurants either in Seoul or around my neighborhood! :)

It would be best to communicate in English, but I’m also open to doing a Korean language exchange. As for Japanese, I’m a beginner, but if Japanese travelers visit, I’d love to try having some free conversations together! I can generally understand the basics.
Hébergement
I live in a two-room officetel in Gwanggyo, Gyeonggi Province. It’s about a 30-minute subway ride from Gangnam Station. It’s a new town, so it’s clean and has a big park nearby. I can offer one of the rooms, and you’ll be able to stay comfortably without any inconvenience!

Autres infos...
It’s also very close to Seoul, so you can easily visit any place you want for sightseeing. Suwon is the next biggest city after Seoul and has many historical sites, so there’s plenty to explore! It could be a great chance to experience a truly local-style tour.
As for house rules, we can discuss them together, but as long as you follow basic manners — like washing your own dishes after eating — there shouldn’t be any issues. We can go over the details when we meet.

It might be a bit difficult to work from home, but there are plenty of big cafés nearby, like Starbucks, so it would be great to work from there!
