  Description

  I am Gaëlle, I live in a charming village of Charente-Maritime (near Saintes and La Rochelle), where I grow flowers. This is my new activity. As I am running out of time, I am looking for some punctual help with garden maintenance (mowing, pruning...), and small tasks around the house and outside. (painting, building wood shelf...)
  I've been here for almost two years with my cat ;).
  Before that, I changed my life several times (I lived in London and Paris, among other places) and I've traveled quite a bit.
  I speak fluent English. I enjoy connecting with people from different cultures, sharing, and learning from others.
  Regarding my living situation: the house is quite large, and you'll have your own bedroom and bathroom.
  The countryside is beautiful, and the village is lively, with all the necessary shops.I truly enjoy living here. There's a real local life.
  I'd be delighted to show you around the region (castles, villages, the seaside, etc.) and also the village itself, to take you to concerts or other outings.
  And of course, I would be happy to help you learn or improve your French, and discuss about our culture.

  I'm interested in many things and delighted to be able to share them with others.
  
  Of course, we can talk about flower cultivation, gardening, but also music (I sing in a chorus, and play batucada), dance (I've done tango and I love all kinds of dance), yoga, travel...
  I regularly go to concerts and shows and would be happy to invite you.
  In the summer, I go for a swim to the pool (5 min away), or to the river; I meet up with friends; there are festivals and plenty of events (markets, concerts, shows, etc.) in the area.
  There are many hiking and biking trails here; the region is very beautiful, with numerous castles nearby.
  
  We are also close to cities like La Rochelle, Rochefort, Royan, and the islands of Ré and Oléron with their beaches and museums.

  Aide

  I would need help with garden maintenance (mowing, trimming, seeding...), and small works projects around the house (painting a wall), and outside (building a small woodshed, oiling a fence, tidying an outbuilding, cleaning a small patio, etc.).
  Other tasks are possible depending on the needs of the moment and your skills .
  If you know how to do DIY and use tools, that's a real plus.I have most of the tools.
  
  We'll try our best to schedule activities in the mornings so you can enjoy your free afternoons.
  
  Of course, if possible, I ask for your participation in communal living, mainly for meals.

  Hébergement

  You will be accommodated in a large bedroom with storage and a private bathroom/toilet.
  
  You will have access to the entire house and the garden.
  
  (My cat also lives here ;)
  The house is quiet and just 5 min walk from the village, and first coffee/restaurant.
  
  We can do the grocery shopping together, and you are free to eat whenever you like.
  
  *** for travellers with a van, it is possible to park in front of the house or just nearby under a tree.

  As I mentioned, the village is animated, there are bars, coffees, restaurants, bakeries, grocery, supermarket...library, swimming pool (summer), cinema.
  there are cities around 15-20 min away, historic places, many castles, sculptures places, river, kayak... And bigger cities like La Rochelle, Rochefort.., and islands
  
  There is a train station 10 min walk from the house, to reach cities around and possibility to reach Paris or Bordeaux also.
  
  The house is non smoking ; if you smoke, I will ask to do it outside, in the garden.
  I expect people to respect my place, my house, and my cat.
  you can play music but not too loud, and not too late.
