  Hi, I’m Andrea!
  Nice to meet you here.
  In my earlier years, I lived a fulfilling life as a single mom, homeowner, and salon owner. Once my children flew the nest and were living successful independent lives, I decided it was time for me to fly as well! I reinvented myself completely and started traveling the world on a shoestring budget. Along the way, I found deep meaning and purpose volunteering independently and through Workaway. I am so grateful for this platform because it connects us!
  
  My latest project is the restoration of an abandoned, 400-square-foot building, turning it into my private tiny home. Please note that this is a completely non-profit, personal residential project, and absolutely no commercial business is conducted here. I officially have my Certificate of Occupancy, so the indoor work is done! My dream is to turn this little property into a thriving organic food forest for personal self-sufficiency, where I never have to worry about what is in the food I eat. Now, I am looking for enthusiastic helpers to join me in preparing the grounds for a sustainable, eco-friendly, organic homestead and regenerative food gardens.

  I am open to different types of assistance from volunteers who would like to take initiative by offering the skill set they feel most comfortable sharing.There is plenty to do!
  The tiny house sits on a little less than one acre of land that I am turning into an organic food forest.
  This will include small fruit and nut trees, blueberry and raspberry bushes, and raised garden beds for other fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers to provide a safe habitat for local pollinators like birds, butterflies, and bees. We need to prepare the garden beds for next spring and plant some fruit and nut trees in their proper seasons.
  The ultimate goal is to reclaim the soil, replace the grass with perennial ground coverings, and create walking paths to the gardens and special areas. Over time, the property will develop into the vision of a holistic, eco-friendly wellness sanctuary.If you have experience with rainwater catchment systems, that would be amazing, as I plan to use one to irrigate the gardens. I would also love to learn how to work with natural earth materials and make some stepping stones out of concrete.
  Right now, there is only dirt in front of the entry door, so I need to build a small patio where we can take off our shoes before entering the house.Although I love to play in the dirt and am not afraid to make a mess when doing projects, I am a very clean, hygienic, and organized person, so you must be as well,

  There are different options for accommodations depending on your needs.
  You can stay as long as you want or as little as you want if we can come to an agreement that is mutually beneficial and coexist harmoniously.
  It would be wonderful if you have your own home on wheels but if not,
  we can share the indoor space, which I have divided into separate sleeping areas and sections.
  There is a sofa that converts into a bed, and I have my own bed.
  Or, I can provide a tent if you prefer to sleep under the stars on occasion or every night—whatever makes you comfortable and happy!
  Indoors there is a nice hot shower,
  I have a washing machine and two racks to dry the clothes.
  T-Mobile Wi-Fi,
  full shared kitchen.
  I offer plant-based nutrition. I still cook with eggs occasionally, and enjoy a mixed diet of raw whole foods and prepared salads soups and stews.

  We can shop together for foods you like, we can cook together, I can cook for you, or you can cook for yourself—whatever makes you happy!

  *Please note I'm not completely retired yet and still have to work part-time outside the home, so you would have to be able to commit to independently completing some projects and entertaining yourself in your free time, as I may not be around as often as I’d like to be.

  there is a commuter bus during the week called the Comet route 93X i offers round-trip i morning and afternoon connecting Newberry to downtown Columbia

  There is plenty of space if your home is on wheels! I can accommodate an RV, but please note there are no electricity or sewer hookups. You would need to dump at a local truck stop, but you are more than welcome to park and stay if we make those arrangements in advance. also I would consider hosting a small family and pets if you have your own RV or camper van.
