Description
I am looking for someone who has their own transportation. I am open to a traditional work trade, but also would be excited to just host someone looking for a retreat for their own creative work in exchange for a few chores.
I live on a rural property under the mountains and by two rivers. I have two jobs: I run a teen court program that serves as an alternative to the justice system for minor crimes committed by youth, and I am the editor of a weekly newspaper. I live in a small neighborhood filled with wonderful people. There are no amenities or services within the neighborhood, or within an hour of the neighborhood. There are unlimited beautiful places to enjoy nature right out the door here.
Chores would be things like keeping up with water hauling and just random things that come up that are hard to describe but seem to eat up a lot of time. Additional projects depend on what you might be interested in- some of them are listed below.
I am trying to expand my garden and would be glad to teach someone more about building soil and bringing up plants in this climate. I also hope to experiment with some new techniques.
Some of the things I would like to do on the property include removing brush, small carpentry projects (woodshed, groovy bathtub, maybe an entryway), and making trails nicer. It kind of depends on your interests and abilities. I also just need a helping hand with random things.
I am a pretty big fan of wild harvesting. I'm probably just going to go for low hanging fruit (hahahaha) that is very accessible around here this summer due to time constraints, but I can show people some good spots and have whatever equipment you might need to do some preserving for yourself in addition to knowledge.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
This is paradise for backcountry skiing, whitewater boating, sea kayaking, hiking, backpacking, etc. Our culture here in my immediate neighborhood is the outdoors. That is what I/we have to share. I'm also super happy to help with English practice. I also could teach people a lot about foraging and preparing wild foods, and about building soil. This is Ahtna country, if anyone was interested in learning more about Ahtna culture or history I would be happy to facilitate. I am not Ahtna myself.

Aide
Here are a few of the specific projects I am interested in help with- obviously no one could do all of this, just ideas.
-Construction of multiple bird boxes for swallows, owls, chickadees, juncos (I have the plans)
-Moving/removal of excess dead wood in accordance with "Firewise" recommendations
-Cooking/household chores
-Wild harvesting and wild crafting
-Removing deadfall from a pretty area to make a nicer trail, other trail maintenance
-Murals/3D art
-Random errands
-Garden bed construction, woodshed construction
-Light carpentry inside a small structure
-General "dealing" that seems to eat up lots of time on rural properties!

Always excited for an opportunity to speak and listen to Spanish, and extremely happy to help with English. I am a writer, and glad to help improve English writing skills too.
Hébergement
For summer visitors, there are a variety of places to camp. During the cooler months (October through May), I have a small outbuilding with a wood stove. The shower is super simple- just a pump in a bucket of warm water- but works and is indoors.

Autres infos...
This is paradise for walking by the river, skiing, hiking in the mountains, visiting glaciers, etc.

Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads
Haha well the term "digital nomads" is a bit problematic, but I know what this means and yes I also do quite a bit of work from home. Phone service works for Verizon but not AT&T, and I'm not sure about other carriers. I have electricity, too, and a small office.

Espace pour garer des vans
There's plenty of room to park a campervan.

Possibilité d'accueillir les animaux
It would depend on the pet. We'd have to talk about it. There is a nearby highway so you would need to be sure your dog wouldn't run on it.
