Description
Hey there! We're all about helping children and individuals from low-income families in our community. How do we do it? By teaching them English!
We're looking for native English speakers (ages 21-40) to join us in an amazing cultural exchange opportunity. Our main goal is to offer free or super affordable English classes to children and families from low-income backgrounds, helping them get a better education.
We truly believe that learning English can change lives. It can help open doors to better opportunities, and connect them to the wider world.
We’re a not-for-profit organization and rely on the active participation of our volunteers to make this program possible. This is a true cultural exchange, where your commitment to learning Spanish is just as important as your contribution to teaching English.
Your role & what you get
You'll be spending 15 hours a week helping our experienced English teachers and leading your own fun conversation groups. These classes happen at our small school downtown and at other language schools and community centers, directly impacting people who need it most.In return, you'll get awesome, spacious shared accommodation in a charming house right in downtown Buenos Aires. It's a perfect spot to explore Buenos Aires!
Our program provides a comprehensive cultural exchange, enabling participants to fully immerse themselves in the local way of life. You'll have the chance to engage directly with students, experience daily routines in Buenos Aires firsthand, and even learn lunfardo, the city's unique slang. We also offer an optional, professional Spanish language program to enhance your experience. The Spanish classes, taught by university-level instructors, have a separate fee. As we are not externally funded, this contribution goes directly to our teaching team and helps sustain our program. This structure allows us to offer both high-quality instruction and an exceptional living experience.
Please remember our academic year ends on December 12, 2025 and restarts on February 2nd, 2026.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Yes, absolutely! Our project is designed as a dynamic language exchange experience. As a Workawayer, you'll teach English (your native language) for 15 hours/week, helping our community and local schools. This goes beyond the classroom as you'll constantly be interacting with locals – including other Latin American students who may be sharing your spacious downtown accommodation, as well as teachers at our partner schools and community centers. In return for your teaching contributions, expensive, excellent accommodation in downtown Buenos Aires is included for Workawayers. You'll be staying in a super spacious shared room with just two other people, ensuring a comfortable base for your immersion. You'll be fully immersed in Spanish, with the option to take 20 hours/week of dedicated classes (at an additional cost covering teacher salaries). This daily interaction with diverse Spanish speakers in your living environment and work settings makes for a truly rich and reciprocal linguistic and cultural exchange.Hébergement
