Description
The school is located in the northern area of Amphoe Samoeng in a small village called Baan Pa Lan. The closest major city, Chiang Mai, is around 1 hour from here. The area is quite remote and doesn’t have the creature comforts of a big city, but there are a couple of restaurants, a small grocery store and a quaint little night market every Thursday.
We have just over 100 students here, the ages range from 3 up to 15 years old.
While we are a government school, our curriculum is based heavily on the Montessori system. For the most part, the lessons are conducted in small groups where students can play an active role in the teaching process.
We want the best for our students and understand the importance of the English language, so we appreciate anyone willing to give up their time to help at our school.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

- You will learn about the traditional way of living of Thai people. How people treat each other with respect even from different cultures and religion. Samoeng looks like Thailand 10 years ago.
- See how hill tribe people grow special crops in order to escape poverty (strawberries, coffee, avocado, etc.) and bring it to the market.
- Share good moments with the students and the teachers who are very exited to spent time with foreigners.Projets impliquant des enfants

For your accommodation, you get a room in a traditional wooden house. The volunteer house is directly opposite the school. The room is fully furnished, you just need to bring a towel and your personal hygiene products with you.
There is a communal kitchen within this facility that you can use to prepare breakfast and lunch. It is fit with an oven, waffle maker, toaster, stove, fridge and various baking utensils. If you like baking, we have you covered; you can bake to your heart's content. We will cover the costs of the meat, vegetables and other ingredients you require to prepare meals, but you will have to cook breakfast and dinner for yourself.
The volunteers will share lunch with the teachers and students at school.Informations complémentaires

First of all, I have to say that I am in a really huge delay writing this review now, since I was in the school between December and February, but better now than never, I guess (sorry Hehe).
This was my first workaway experience and it could not be better, sincerely... I am still thinking of them daily.
I stayed for around two… read more

It has been like living in a big family. Everyone has taken care of me and other volunteers also for little things.
I enjoyed my stay also if I'd like to be more helpful.
A special thanks for Kru Meow and her family 🤍
Thank you for everything
I stayed for three weeks in the school and it was simply amazing! I felt part of a family and part of the community too.

Vincent and Meau are doing such a good job in this school and I'm very glad that I was able to join their work for 3 weeks. I stayed for 1,5 weeks in a thai family (beautiful experience, thank you Meau) and the other 1,5 weeks in the school with the other teachers.
I learned a lot about the Thai culture and I will… read more
I had a great experience teaching the children in kindergarten and primary 1 and 2.
At first it was a bit of a search what to teach and where to start because there were not many volunteers before me and I did not know the English level of the children.
After some time I got the hang of it and I was… read more
