  Description

  I’m a divorced father living near Freiburg, at the edge of the Black Forest. My house used to be home to a family of five, and it’s too big for me to keep up on my own. I work full time, so I’m looking for someone to help with simple garden and household tasks. The garden is small but overgrown, and the bus stop right at the house gives direct access to Freiburg, a vibrant university city with plenty to explore.
  
  Type of help
  Main tasks in the garden include:
  
  Removing weeds
  
  Cutting back hedges and plants
  
  Tidying up the outdoor area
  
  These tasks can be done independently while I’m at work. It’s straightforward help – no planting or creative landscaping needed.
  
  If you stay for a longer period, the garden alone might not provide enough help, so it can be helpful to assist with light household chores, like vacuuming for example. No experience is required, just a practical, flexible attitude.

  I’m only at home part of the time, so the cultural exchange here is relaxed and low-key. I enjoy meeting new people, love traveling, and am happy to chat in English (and a little French).
  
  While helping in the garden, you’ll likely have friendly encounters with neighbors, giving you a small taste of local life. The bus stop right at the house makes it easy to reach Freiburg, a vibrant university city with a diverse and lively atmosphere – perfect for exploring, meeting people, or joining events.

  Hébergement

  You’ll have your own private room, which was formerly one of the children’s rooms. The room has a bed, wardrobe, and can be locked for your privacy.
  
  The house is quite large, so there won’t be any completely separate areas, and the kitchen is always accessible. We can coordinate if you’d like to share meals together. I enjoy cooking and baking, and I’m happy to involve you in preparing regional dishes, cakes, or other treats if you’re interested.

  The neighborhood is very quiet, so it’s easy to relax and sleep well at night. Freiburg, on the other hand, is lively and vibrant even in the evenings, offering plenty of cultural and social activities. The internet connection at the house is very good, so you can stay connected, work, or stream as needed.
