… read more began a renovation project. He has been great helping with that. He is physically strong and able and enthusiastic to help with lots of tasks. He has worked hard with his language skills and has really improved his english. Communication has always been good. I can highly recommend Leandro as a work away guest!

My main tasks included cleaning the house, doing the laundry and school pickups once a week as well as some child minding. I also did some DIY projects in the house and garden work but had plenty of time off too.
Jessica kindly offered me to take her car, if I wanted to do my own thing and meet people in the evening. She also introduced me to a few friends of hers (really nice people too) and took me sea swimming on Thursday mornings, if we felt brave enough. 😉

Annalena arrived to our family during our holiday period. We had a wonderful time travelling and camping together. It was wonderful to have her company and help along the way. She was super flexible, open and curious as we explored. She met lots of my family ( who were all crazy about her). She then continued her work away with us as we settled
… read more into the routines and rhythms of school term. Her help in this period was much appreciated. She gave lots of practical help. Most appreciated was her way of caring for the children. She was always interested in their conversation and questions and she nurtured their curious little minds with questions, conversations, games, and activities. She has a very steady, gentle and confident approach with the kids that made them feel confident and secure with her. Her experience in working with children was very apparent. Having Annalena in our home felt like having a friend stay. We were delighted we got to meet her and her lovely parents when she was back in ireland. Annalena will always be remembers by the children and I and we wish her lots of lovely adventures in the future.

… read more passion for life. She is a most patient and kind mother and was a fabulous friend to me during my stay. Otto is one of the most creative and imaginative children I have ever met. He is high energy and very intelligent and although sometimes prone to reactivity, he is well intentioned and I loved forging a friendship with him. Anna Rose is sweet and caring and will be the first to ask you if you need help while cooking or cleaning. Jess does a fantastic job of fostering creativity and free play and the beautiful house and garden were the site of many fun games and make-believe scenarios.
During my stay, I helped Jess repaint some walls and doors in the house. I also did some yard work, creating divisions between mulch and grass in the garden. Weeding and gardening were also fun past times. Most of all, I loved cooking for Jess and the kids, who were open minded and appreciative of unprocessed and home-grown vegan food.
Living with Jess, Otto, and Anna Rose is a constant adventure. There is always something fun to do, craft, cook, and eat. My room was small but perfect because I didn't spend much time in there anyway! We were always on the go.

… read more toys, furniture. They had great initiative and ideas about how to organise things in away to make things flow easier at home. We are very grateful for this practical help.
The way they related to the kids was also very appreciated. They were open to the children's interests and encouraged them as they played, made music and art together. hey were very confident and capable in caring for the kids. Ben and Annarose formed a little band called 'Zoe and the Kangaroo' which was very sweet. I guess Ben didnt imagine during his work away to be persuaded by kids to do a music parade through the neighbourhood! I really enjoyed Alisons communication with the children and also personally to hear her perspectives and insights from her years of experience as a teacher.

I was staying with Jessica for 3 and a half week. And I loved the work with both kids. Their are so nice and they enjoyed to play outside or walk around. Jessica is also a very nice and funny woman and you always can talk with her about everything.

Thea stayed with our family for 2 months. We enjoyed getting to know each other on whatsapp before she arrived. We are making changes at home step by step! She also helped a lot with the daily routine in our home. I am very grateful for all she shared and did. She spent Christmas and some holiday weekends with my family and friends. They all became very fond of her. It was not just the children and me who were sad to see her leave! We will be staying in touch for sure and hope to meet her again.

Otto is a little boy full of life and energy who can be the loveliest guy when he decides to and Anna Rose is definitely the funniest 1-year-old girl I've ever met (oh and she's also the sweetestt)! They are both very clever children and I had a lot of fun with them!
During my stay I also met so many incredible people, most of them being Jess' friends, so thank you for that Jess!!
Also, we really built a relationship with Jess based on trust and I know we'll keep in touch and see each other again in the future!
