  Description

  We're at an exciting stage with our farm! Our farm members (customers) are buying almost everything we produce. We are at a point of growth where I'm looking for workawayers to help with everything we are producing for our members. You will learn about care and milking of cows, as well as processing the milk into cream, butter and cheese. You will learn about care for laying hens and be involved with feeding and collecting eggs. You will also be involved with the production of all the other foods we offer our members. Sourdough bread, celery and carrot juice, coconut cream, as well as packaging shipments to our members nationwide. Our practices at the farm are better than organic, raw and chemical free.
  
  We are looking for workawayers that have a desire to learn about all aspects of farming, including turning our products into value-add items and packaging our products for shipment. We are looking for workawayers with a strong attention to detail and that enjoy working with animals in a gentle, respectful way. For your help, we're offering a wage of $120 per week for 15 hours of help. As we continue to grow, we'll be able to offer more hours per week. You will also have a private room and bathroom in the farmhouse. Because we are offering a wage, you will be responsible for your own food. Start time is flexible, anytime from now to spring.   The farm is a permaculture inspired 35-acres located about 2 hours south of Rochester, NY. There are many small towns and state parks to explore in the near area. The property has a beautiful 1-acre spring-fed pond to be enjoyed by everyone. Open to fishing (bass, sunfish). My expectation is that workawayers will be respectful of the host, each other and the farm. I enjoy teaching helpers about all aspects of farming and running the farm as a business. I also like sharing my workaway experiences with others, as I workawayed on several farms before buying my own farm.
  
  We all benefit from farming in a sustainable organic way and connecting with the land and environment around us. I enjoy this way of life and look forward to sharing it with other like-minded people!
