Hello!
My name is Taiyo, and together with my wife and our five children, we run several family businesses on the beautiful island of Ojika, Nagasaki, Japan.
Ojika is a peaceful island with a population of around 2,000 people, surrounded by crystal-clear beaches, stunning sunsets, traditional Japanese culture, and warm local people.
If you're looking for an authentic Japanese experience away from the crowds, we'd love to welcome you.

A good attitude, flexibility and a willingness to help are much more important than experience.
We welcome solo Workawayers who enjoy meeting people and experiencing authentic rural Japan.

Every day is different, making every week unique and enjoyable.
🐱 Love Cats?
One of our biggest projects is rescuing abandoned and stray cats.
Animal lovers are especially welcome.
You may help with:
• Feeding rescued cats
• Cleaning cat areas
• Socializing shy cats
• Taking adoption photos
• Supporting rescue activities
Many helpers say this becomes one of the most rewarding parts of their stay.
🏡 Accommodation
You'll normally stay in our comfortable shared house.
Facilities include:
• Free Wi-Fi
• Washing machine
• Refrigerator
• Microwave
• Electric kettle
• Bicycle
During busy seasons, the shared house may become full.
In that case, you may stay in our Guesthouse Dormitory (capsule-style accommodation) instead.
If you're happy staying in either accommodation depending on availability, we'd love to receive your application.
💰 Payment & Meals
Hourly Wage
💴 ¥1,050 per hour
Working Hours
⏰ Approximately 5–7 hours per day
📅 Usually 5 days per week
Minimum stay:
✔ 3 weeks
(Longer stays are always welcome.)
🍳 Optional Staff Meals
Our homemade staff meal plan is available for ¥300 per day.
Includes:
🍳 Breakfast
🍱 Lunch
🍛 Dinner
Whether you eat one meal or all three, the price remains ¥300/day.
🏠 Accommodation Contribution
If you stay in our shared house, we kindly ask for a ¥100/day contribution toward electricity, gas and water costs.
If the shared house is full and you stay in our guesthouse dormitory, there is NO ¥100 daily utility contribution.
🛂 Visa Requirements
You must already have a visa that legally allows employment in Japan.
Accepted visas include:

✔ Student Visa (with work permission)
✔ Spouse Visa
✔ Permanent Resident
✔ Long-Term Resident
Unfortunately, tourist visas are not eligible.

You have the opportunity to meet the local Ojika residents and feel part of a small community in this unique countryside environment. You can learn about the running of the inn and guesthouse and get tips on starting and running your own business.
