  Description

  Hi, I’m Martin, a Dutchman who decided to follow a dream and start a completely new adventure in France.
  Left Holland at the age of 17 to Lived in Kibbutz for over 5 years, Backpacked around the world for 10months then Eventually settled in Australia, And after years decided to go back to Europe to
  
  I’m now living in beautiful La Bastide-d’Armagnac, in the southwest of France, where I bought my dream home -an old château that I’m currently renovating. It’s a big project, but also a fantastic adventure, and there is always something to do!
  
  Ribere is a private residence and actually not sure what I will do with this when its all done, probably live in the chateau and experience life in a French Chateau.
  
  I’m looking forward to meeting people from all over the world who would like to experience life in the French countryside, learn the local culture and what is involved in such an huge project in a very rural setting plus enjoy the relaxed French way of life.
  
  There is plenty to enjoy: beautiful villages, nature, good food and wine, local markets and the wonderful relaxed atmosphere of southwest France.
  
  There is also a stand alone house on the property where I live whilst the chateau is being renovated, this is where we eat if we are not going out to some local bistro's. On Sunday's we regularly go on trips to explore the local sceneries and various villages.
  
  There is also basic cooking facilities in the small house where you could cook yourself if desired.
  
  For me, Workaway, It’s about sharing experiences, meeting interesting people, exchanging cultures and hopefully making some great memories along the way.
  
  So if you like the idea of escaping to the French countryside, getting your hands a little dirty and being part of the story of bringing an old château back to life, you’re very welcome! 🇫🇷🏰

  Some of the tasks can vary from painting, gardening and general help. You don’t need to be an expert — a positive attitude, willingness to learn and a good sense of humour are much more important!

  You will have your own private little house within the château property, giving you plenty of space and privacy during your stay.
  
  The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including:

  The house is completely separate from the main château, so it is all yours during your stay. You can enjoy your own space and independence while still being part of the life.
  
  It’s a simple, cosy place in a beautiful setting — perfect if you enjoy peace, countryside living and the experience of staying on an old French château property. 🏡🇫🇷
