  Description

  I'm retired expat living in Santa Marta for the past six years, I am from the USA. I have a four bedroom, three bath, house in working class barrio 5km outside the city centre. I enjoy going to the beach, doing surfing near the beaches of tayrona, hiking up in the sierra Nevada and biking in the mountains and also around the city. You would be more than welcome to join me on weekdays or days off to go hiking, surf near tayrona or chill near other beaches in santa marta, Taganga, Rodadero. I am looking for someone with experience with stucco, repairing baseboards, walls, ceilings, that the humidify in santa marta has wreck havoc. nothing that difficult maybe just a few hours a day, some cleaning, cooking, and maybe some painting so you would have plenty of time to explore the area.

  I can introduce them to what living is like for an expat in a foreign country and orient them for further exploration in the surrounding area , the beaches, the sierra Nevada. although I cant provide much what its like living with Colombian family. But what you cultural exchange you can gain from staying here is to have an experience of living in Colombian neighborhood , outside the city centre where few tourists come to see.

  Aide

  Looking for someone who can help around the house, do some light cooking, who knows about good nutrition and healthy eating, some cleaning, like sweeping the tile floors and light dusting and general cleaning in the kitchen. Also, some Spanish would be helpful to do some food shopping, buy fresh food from the store that is very close by. Also do repairs on stucco, and small projects such as replacing broke tiles around the base boards.

  Private bedroom with own bathroom. I have a large comfortable queen size air mattress or a regular bed to sleep on, and you would have access to all other areas of the house including the kitchen.

  Lots to do in santa marta, parque tayrona is only 45 minutes by car, the great beaches nearby, the mountains in Minca, hiking, swimming in clear rivers, great food and lots of bars, clubs, only 20 minutes by taxi to the city centre.
