  Natural Reserve
  
  This is a conservation and restoration project of native forest (90 hectares) located in the central zone of Chile, in its mountain range of the coast, in the valley of Colliguay, Valparaíso Region - a mediterranean climate. The topography is mostly hilly, steep and with ravines, with a great variety of unique ecosystems, native flora and fauna. It has waterfalls, a natural spring, and beautiful pools that are replenished by a mountain stream.
  
  There are many hiking trails and other natural features.
  
  There is also the farm where we have many fruit trees and an orchard. We are researching and testing permaculture systems, agroecology, and garden forests. In addition, we are currently building the new administration and volunteer house, using mixed techniques with local materials from the site (wood, stone, earth, mud, straw).
  
  We are fortunate to have volunteers with agronomy studies who have contributed their experience and a lot of knowledge. Also others with knowledge in bio construction.
  
  And the forest is a research field for biologists.
  
  Our knowledge is new and evolving. Our family does not come from a farming background. We try to do our best in everything, with a lot of love and will.
  
  
  We believe that the return to life in the countryside is one of the positive ways of resistance to climate change, the madness of cities, and their toxic development.
  
  This project is also a way of learning to live with what is simple, what is necessary, coexisting with the environment, being part of it. being happy with the philosophy less is more, make the change from within, to rediscover the earth and be one more with it
  
  Reserva Natural
  Este es un proyecto de conservación y restauración del bosque nativo mediterráneo (90 hectáreas) ubicado en la zona central de Chile, en la cordillera de la costa, en el valle de Colliguay, Región de Valparaíso. Tierra de laderas y quebradas entre los cerros, con únicos ecosistemas de gran variedad de flora y fauna nativa. Tiene cascadas de agua y una hermosa posa natural donde en primavera y verano es posible tomar un baño con agua de la montaña
  mucho senderismo y naturaleza
  También está la granja donde tenemos muchos árboles frutales y huerto. Estamos investigando y probando sistemas de permacultura, agroecología, bosque jardín. Además actualmente construimos la nueva casa de administración y voluntariado, en técnicas mixtas (madera, piedras del lugar, tierra, barro, paja).
  Hemos tenido la fortuna de tener voluntarios con estudios de agronomía quienes nos han aportado su experiencia y mucho conocimiento. También otros con conocimientos en bio construcción.
  Y el bosque es un campo de investigación para los biólogos.
  Nuestro conocimiento es reciente, no tenemos una tradición campesina en nuestra familia. Tratamos de hacer lo mejor posible en cada cosa, con mucho amor y voluntad.
  
  Creemos que el retorno a la vida en el campo es una de las maneras positivas de resistencia ante el cambio climático, la locura de las ciudades y su tóxico desarrollo.
  
  También este proyecto es un camino de aprender a vivir con lo simple, lo necesario, coexistiendo con el entorno, siendo parte de él. Siendo feliz con la filosofía menos es más, hacer el cambio desde dentro, del reencontrarse con la tierra y ser uno más con ella

  You can also learn about the experience of living in a mountain farm, enjoy wood cooking and healthy food. You can experiment with bioconstruction and permaculture and clean energy techniques.
  
  You can also know the rural community of this hidden valley of Colliguay and all its flavors, and connect with local culture.

  El lugar es sobrecogedor, hermoso, el viajero podrá conocer el clima de región mediterránea, ecosistema que aparte de Europa solo se da en 4 zonas en el mundo: Australia, Sudáfrica, el chaparral californiano y el bosque mediterráneo chileno. Podrá sumergirse en la naturaleza, darse un baño en una pequeña posa con cascada y el agua cristalina de la montaña, todo esto rodeado de gran variedad de pájaros, insectos pequeños mamíferos y zorros Chilla.
  También podrá conocer la experiencia de habitar en una granja de montaña, disfrutar de cocina a leña y alimentos sanos. Se podrá experimentar con la bioconstrucción y técnicas de permacultura y energías limpias
  Además conocerá la comunidad campesina de este valle escondido de Colliguay y todos sus sabores y cultura y arte local

  Aide

  The first objective is the conservation and restoration of the native forest, which is in danger of disappearing due to over-logging, long-term drought, and climate change. To do this, we work together with the conservation authorities (Conaf) in a forest management plan. Basically, each individual action is carried out to promote the survival and growth of the thickest new tree trunks, and removing the thinnest ones - leaving them on the ground as a large mulch. In this activity a little help from volunteers may be needed but it is done by someone well-trained with the chainsaw and best practices.
  
  Other important objectives are to recover and restore old houses while respecting their heritage.
  
  
  Currently the activities will be of bio-construction using the materials of the land, collection, classification and preparation of the mixture for its subsequent application.
  
  In parallel, we will work the garden with the agro-ecological concept of the garden in the forest, seeking to grow food within the biodynamics of a forest, which we are investigating.
  
  Again, we are not farmers, so we cannot teach farming, rather, we are constantly learning and exchanging knowledge together with volunteering.

  El primer objetivo es la conservación y restauración del bosque nativo, que se encuentra en peligro de desaparecer por la sobre explotación maderera y la sequía y el cambio climático. Para ello trabajamos en conjunto con las autoridades de conservación (Conaf) en un plan de manejo y ordenamiento del bosque. Básicamente se realizan acciones individuo por individuo potenciando el crecimiento de las ramas más gruesas y sacando las ramas más delgadas las cuales quedan en el suelo como un gran mulch. En esta actividad puede necesitarse un poco de ayuda de parte de los voluntarios pero normalmente la realiza una persona con capacitación para ello (yo o algún operador profesional)
  Otros objetivos son recuperar y restaurar antiguas casas respetando su patrimonialidad.
  
  Actualmente las actividades serán de bio construcción con los materiales del lugar, recolección, clasificación y preparación de mezcla para su posterior aplicación.
  En paralelo trabajaremos el huerto con el concepto agro ecológico del huerto en el bosque, buscando cultivar alimentos dentro de la biodinámica de un bosque. Estamos investigando en esto.
  
  No somos campesinos, tampoco maestros, estamos en constante aprendizaje e intercambio de conocimiento junto al voluntariado

  Four beds are available in a shared room
  Here we drink the mountain water which is clean and delicious. we use dry bath. There is electricity. Clothes are washed by hand. Cooking is all on wood fires and stoves. There is no strict food plan, but it tends to be vegetarian.
  
  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided and shared together.
  
  Here we have a good signal for phones and internet, we don't have wifi but if you need I can share internet from my phone.
  
  
  The atmosphere is very calm and relaxed. The work is real and can be intense but with a break when necessary and always a pleasant experience, friendly community spirit. In addition to working on the project, we all collaborate in daily living - cleaning, helping in the kitchen, collecting firewood, making jams and juices, for example.
  
  Those who have visited have loved the project and the place, in addition to the family atmosphere. All have felt at home.
  
  
  Hay cuatro camas disponibles en una habitación compartida
  Se bebe el agua de montaña, hay baño seco, ducha caliente, electricidad, la ropa se lava a mano, se cocina a leña, no hay restricción alimenticia alguna pero la comida es bastante vegetariana.

  El ambiente es muy tranquilo, se trabaja intenso pero con los descansos necesarios y con una grata experiencia de convivencia comunitaria. Además del trabajo en el proyecto todos colaboramos en el diario vivir (limpieza, ayuda en cocina, recoger leña, hacer mermeladas y jugos, por ejemplo)
  Quienes nos visitaron amaron el proyecto y el lugar, además del ambiente de familia que se crea, se sintieron como en casa.
