Description
One month preferred.
Welcome to a honey and coffee farm in the mountains of Western Panama. The farm is walking distance to the town of Boquete and has many fruit trees shading the coffee and we have a honey plant on the farm and tourist business that specializes in honey tasting and bee pollination and farm stays. We also have the largest butterfly house under a roof in Panama.
The farm is lush and very beautiful and rich in pre-columbian history. We grow our coffee under shade trees. The climate is around 75 degrees all year round.
Our workaway guests get to experience our place and help out with the farm stays and tourism being support for our Panamanian staff. This can mean hosting type work with tourists or guests, creating social media content and generally helping out out our staff.

Free Nature Tours and Expertise: We aim to connect people with nature through our tours that are available for free to workawayers. Free honey and bee tour, honey tastings and butterfly house.
Experience with a well known business within the country of Panama with a great reputation and inspiring content to share.
Help us spread a love of nature and message to conserve pollinators.

People with talent to share, hosting, explaining and producing social media content about our work as a farm and pollinator conservation. As a butterfly and honey business interested in beekeepers and butterfly people and have alot to offer in exchange but nature lovers with helpful talents welcome. Specifically our roles are as follows and each one supports a Panamanian team with your unique skills and helps them do their job more fully and grow:
1. Host supporting Spanish speaking chef and housekeeper for Casita breakfasts and days off. We also have a coffee shop and baristas are especially welcome to help us improve our brews and formulate innovative drinks. We are a coffee farm amongst other things in a famous coffee growing region so can offer some unique insights and learning for an interested person.
2. Social media support. You likely have a better camera than our staff on your phone as well as an outside eye to a good story photo or video and we always need lots of material. You have experience producing social media posts. We offer some very compelling subject matter in our butterfly house, breeding operation and beekeeping operation as well as native bees. It is a great opportunity to add to your portfolio as well and get to go into places few ever do.
3. Butterfly House support or Beekeeping support: Helping our lab techs and lending your English skills to help them better do their jobs. Beekeeping support may involve carpentry skills and previous knowledge of beekeeping. This role really requires some background in biology, conservation or practical work in the field. It could be very rewarding for you to see how we do these things here in Panama and we also will gain from your expertise.
Volunteers have breakfast with our hotel/casita farm stay guests which is an extensive breakfast then help us prepare the two other family style meals. We eat a balanced omniverous diet, but lots of vegetables and generally considered healthy. My hobby is hiking so there is an opportunity to do lots of hiking in the mountains around here. Most volunteers leave fitter and healthier than when they arrive!

Staying on Emily's farm was my first workaway experience and I had a great time. The place is a little paradise, situated in the mountains and surrounded by a lot of coffee plants, thousand of flowers and many humming birds.
