Description
Annette, Kim and Blue (the dog) live in a spacious free-flowing home, surrounded by trees. It is a quiet, leafy suburb about 15 minutes by public transport from the Brisbane CBD. Brisbane is a lovely city that offers a relaxed lifestyle with everything within a short walk or a bike ride away – libraries, galleries, theatres, parks, climbing cliffs, the river and cafes.
Our current project is landscaping a section of our property. You will be helping Kim with relocating pavers, removing weeds, reworking garden beds, laying stepping stones, cleaning outdoor walls, laying turf. Kim will lead the project. Sometimes you will work side by side with him; other times he will instruct you then leave you to it. The project will suit someone who is fit, physically strong and capable, and likes being outside.
We live a healthy life and love the Workaway community for how it has connected us with some wonderful people —many of whom have become friends that we stay in touch with. Annette loves yoga and Kim loves to share his knowledge of birds and plants.
The win-win nature of Workaway exchange allows us to achieve some really valuable things while enjoying a cultural exchange with travellers along the way.

We offer openness to others from all backgrounds and have hosted exchange students, travellers and many Workawayers over the years. All visitors have had a great time, and keep up the connections long after their stays. As avid travellers and hikers within Australia and New Zealand, we are well resourced with real experiences of much of Australia and NZ to share with you.

We offer a separate, light-filled, well-ventilated room, on the upper level, overlooking the back garden. Furnished with a double bed and desk. It has an adjoining bathroom, for your exclusive use. We cook both vegetarian food and meat dishes.

Time off options are really unlimited. There is so much to do in and around Brisbane. Our public transport system is very efficient and inexpensive. We have bush walking options, Toohey Forrest and Whites Hill Reserve (offering regular koala sightings) within a small walking distance from our home. A short bus ride will take you to South Bank for swimming, open air movies, food and buskers.
Previous visitors have loved the ease of access.
