Description
With 20+ years experience coordinating volunteers, students and families on community programs, Robert is an expert when it comes to promoting sustainable development.
We run a registered non-profit, non-governmental Ghanaian organization operating in the Volta Region of Ghana with programs currently implemented in Adaklu District. Our programs are aimed at promoting sustainable development n Education Quality Health Care and Social Entrepreneurship.
Our objectives are to improve communities through building a network of local and international organization to develop sustainable governance structure that will address community needs, resolve challenges that interfere with prosperity, sustainability and self-reliance, and use lesson learnt to enhance transformational change in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region.
Our Community Goals:
1. Advance communities economic stability through social entrepreneurship.
2. Quality Education for all children.
3. Quality Health Care Delivery for all.
4. Food Sustainability and better Nutrition through composting and organic farming.
Our Mission is to empower communities with the tool they need to become self-sufficient, ensure community involvement and ownership, foster skills an information exchange and self reliance, and encourage communities to develop sustainable solution ans work together to achieve long-term goals.
Our Vision is to empower, impact and transform the lives of people in the communities we serve through knowledge and skills acquisition, bring together local and international resources to develop and address community needs and be a testament of perseverance, ingenuity, hope to attain self-reliance.
Our Logo; an Adinkra symbol called Menso Wo Kenten means " I am not carrying your basket" It stands for industry, self-reliance and economic self determination.
Our Spotlight Program - Recycle Arts & Craft Products at Nunya Village
Nunya an Ewe word means Wisdom/Talent. Nunya Village is a centre of passionate students entrepreneurs arts and craft artisans who blends culture and tradition with innovation and creativity. The hub is located at a serene environment right under the foot of Adaklu Mountain in Adaklu Tsrefe community in Adaklu District of the Volta Region in Ghana. Nunya Village attracts arts and crafts enthusiasts to boost the local community economy, provides youth employment, mitigate rural urban migration and embodies transitional arts and culture from recycled and repurposed materials that promote, protect and preserve our environment.
Nunya Village guests are welcomed under airy thatched huts, hosted by passionate talented students entrepreneur artisans who have mastered jewellery making using diverse recycled and repurposed materials such as cane, glass, calabash and clay, fabric into beads, kente and basket weaving, pottery designing and all kinds of wood carving. The centre echos rich Adaklu cultural heritage. Every item crafted is a unique testament of creativity, innovation, sustainability to enhance our natural environment.
Goals of Nunya Village:
Empower Ghanaian youth with skills, knowledge, culture and tradition in arts and craft to promote, protect and preserve our culture heritage.
Pass on skills, knowledge, creativity, and innovation through exhibition, even ts and fairs
To invest resources and funds into the local community economy to support implementation of program as enshrined in the SDGs. Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Workaway travellers will engage and interact with community Chiefs, Elders, Queen Mother, community members, teachers, nurses, students, farmers among others. They will also participate in community storytelling around bonfire in the evening, learn the history of the community, participate in festivals, naming ceremony, community gathering, marriage ceremonies, dancing and drumming programs, cooking with local community members, visit historic tourist sites, visit the local market, work on a community farm among others

Aide
Individuals, groups and families from Workaway travellers will help student entrepreneurs at Nunya Village to enhance their creative skills on the various arts and craft produced, market Nunya Village on all Social Media platforms, identify arts and craft exhibition, fairs, and events organized around the world to participate and share their talent and arts. Travellers are also need to serve as Ambassadors of Nunya Village Arts and Craft products

Workaway travellers stay with Host family within project community. They will be provided with bottle water, 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Dietary restriction/allergies shall be strictly adhered to. Travellers will be served both Ghanaian local and Foreign cuisine
