  Description

  Hello! We are a beautiful family with two girls of 7 and 5 yars old and a little boy 1 year and 4 months old. :)
  We moved to Tuscany in September, to the countryside between Lucca and Pisa, and have started a new life here!
  We are a very simple family; we love all natural things.
  We are very careful about our diet: we eat everything, but only quality, organic, local, and seasonal! We enjoy preparing homemade foods, making fermented foods, pasta, pizza, and homemade bread!
  We love being in nature, taking lots of walks and doing outdoor activities!
  We enjoy culture in general; we read, go to concerts, theater performances, and various fairs.
  We love traveling, exploring new places near and far, and meeting different people and cultures.
  We renovate and build natural and sustainable homes throughout Italy, which also allows us to travel for work.
  Why are we looking for an au pair? Because we believe it's an enriching experience in many ways: we enjoy connecting with people from different cultures, we want to give our children and to dad Tiziano the opportunity to learn English (and to mom Valentina to improve it), and we need someone who can help us with the day-to-day running of the house.
  We're looking for someone with experience and a passion for spending time with children, someone who can build a good bond with them, yet also be responsible and resourceful enough to support us as parents.
  Children's education is truly important to us: we raise our children with kind and respectful parenting, setting healthy limits and boundaries without violence, threats, yelling, or punishment, but rather with respect, listening, and communication. We strive to foster an authoritative, not authoritarian, education.
  We don't have a television at home, and our children don't use smartphones or tablets by choice.
  We parents are very rarely away for work; we're always there, even if we have various commitments. For us, the au pair isn't a replacement for parents, but rather a comprehensive support for the family.
  In the morning, the girls go to school, and Tiziano and I have various commitments. If we're both busy, the au pair will be expected to stay with the little boy and occasionally prepare lunch if we get home too late. The afternoon is variable, sometimes we stay to play or do activities at home or in the garden, other times we go out for sports activities, other times for walks or for chores.
  Some afternoons and weekends, Tiziano and I have school meetings or classes to attend, so the au pair will have to take care of the children in our absence.
  On weekends, we often go on trips or organize events with friends.
  We travel at least 3-4 times a year!

  We live near some of the most beautifull cities in Tuscany, there are a lot of things to see and to do, and we live in a typical italian little city on tuscany hills. We can show you all italian culture! We like semplicity but at the same time quality of things! We love to cook natural and genuine food, make a lot of home made food, like pasta, pizza, fermented vegetables, and typical dishes from all Italy (I have my origin in Puglia,
  and Tiziano near Naples).
  I speak italian, english, french and spanish, so you can learn or improve a lot of languages! :)

  Aide

  Commitments and schedules will vary depending on what we have to do daily.
  Mainly, the commitment will involve the following:
  - helping out around the house, helping with: tidying up, setting/clearing the table, cooking, washing dishes, tidying up and cleaning up after meals, and helping with dirty laundry (NOT cleaning the house because there's a girl who takes care of that)
  - playing with our little boy if we're busy doing something else around the house
  - spending time with the girls, playing freely with them, even though they're very independent, mostly to learn English
  - spending time alone with the children occasionally if we parents are busy with an activity or class.

  Hébergement

  We currently live in Colle di Compito, a small village in the Pisan Hills near Lucca.
  We're currently renting an apartment in a large, traditional Tuscan stone house, with terracotta floors and wooden beams on the ceilings, until the end of March. The house is in a natural setting, surrounded by olive groves and woods, so you can go for walks in the countryside. There's a large outdoor space with a garden, swimming pool, barbecue, and wood-burning oven, as well as spaces for dining and relaxing, shared with three other apartments. Our apartment is on the second floor and consists of two bedrooms, a living room/kitchen, and a bathroom. If you join our family, we'll rent another apartment in the same stone house downstairs, so you'll have your own privacy and space. We'll probably move before the end of March, but if that happens, we'll choose a new home with a bedroom and at least two bathrooms!
  There's Wi-Fi. Bars, the post office, and a few shops are within walking distance.
  The current house is a 5-minute walk from the bus stop that takes you to Lucca and Pontedera. Lucca can be reached by car in about 15 minutes, Pisa in 30 minutes, and Florence in 50 minutes. The closest airport is Pisa, with numerous flights. The train station is in Lucca or Pontedera, offering quick connections to Florence.
