    Description

    Availability from early April 2025

Join us on our regenerative agriculture farm 1 hour west of Melbourne. We (Matt and Liz) live in the beautiful Daylesford/Hepburn Spa country on 110 acres farming Sheep, Pigs, Cows, Chickens and vegetables. We also have pet Donkeys, Ponies, Horses, Alpacas and Goats. We appreciate volunteers who are keen to be involved and actively contribute to day to day farm life.

We have 2 double rooms available inside the house with access to your own bathroom. Outside we have a converted school bus motor home for longer stays or if you want to be more self sufficient. We are happy to provide all meals cooked from local and farm grown produce. We have our own beef, pork and lamb but are also happy to cater for vegetarians. Vegans probably aren't a good fit for us as there is lots of meat consumed on this farm.

Having your own transport will provide lots of freedom to access work and recreation. We are happy to provide transport to the train/bus if needed. We have good internet and public transport is about 15 minutes from the farm.

We are looking for energetic and active people who are interested sharing life with us, being part of our everyday activities. This can including tending to our big house veggie garden, cooking and sharing meals, household tasks, feeding animals, building things, caring for baby animals. We are currently working on revamping our front garden and putting in flower beds, building some chicken runs and a bit of domestic fencing. Our veggie garden always wants attention. We operate in s pretty unstructured way and our plans can change suddenly as circumstances change on the farm. If you are the type of person who likes structure and time schedules it's not really what we do. We both work off the farm as well and there will be times you will be here on your own (or with other Workawayers) and will need to sort out your own meals.

We are close the the tourist towns of Daylesford and Ballarat if you are looking to find work.

At this time we do not have capacity to offer paid work on the farm as a part of the workaway stay.

We enjoy the company of easy going people from all walks of life and love sharing a meal and nice conversation. We have a huge menagerie of animals to play with, pat and care for including horses, donkeys, goats, pigs and chooks. We are actively engaged in our community and seek to link our volunteers with a range of community activities to meet others and engage in community life.
We run a busy farm stall at our front gate so Liz spends lots of time making jams, preserves and pickles.
Our farm is very central to a great range of activities -30 mins from historic Ballarat, 20 mins from Daylesford and the mineral springs region, 1 hour from Melbourne and 1 hour from the beach.
