Description
We're a young family of 3 nestled in the Blue Mountains. We like to have a laugh, go exploring through the mountains - bush walking, swimming - or simply enjoy the serenity of our property. Katoomba is the best balance of country living, with the amenities of a city just around the corner. Our home (and your bedroom) has mountain views and is conveniently located 30 mins walk from town centre (5 min drive).

We welcome guests into our home as family. We'd be happy to show you the best water holes, cafes, and bush-walks the Blue Mountains has to offer. Bring and open mind and an open heart and you will be met with the same in return. We love to hear your stories and learn about your culture. We've travelled the world extensively, and are always curious to learn from those that pass through our doors.

We offer guests space and personal respect and we request the same from you. It is a must that all guests keep communal areas tidy and clean up after themselves. This is not a party household.

Aide
**looking for experience with tiling, painting, carpentry and photography ** if you have these skills let us know :-) a bonus, not essential.
The main tasks typically seek help with are: gardening, painting, housework and child minding. We would work out a combination you're comfortable with.

Some other projects we’d like to do over the next year are creating a tiled backsplash in our kitchen and building a pizza oven.

I work from home most days, and my husband works in Sydney part of the week. My 5 year old son is in school full time.

In exchange for food & accommodation we ask that you give us 5 hours of help, 5 days per week.

We live in Katoomba, the main town in the Blue Mountains.
There's an arts scene here, as well as a live music scene. We've got all the amenities of a big little town :)
We are a 30 min walk (5 min drive) to the town centre which has cafes, shops, and a train that goes to the city (1.5 hr trip to Sydney's Central station). Just 10 min walk from our house there's a indoor/outdoor pool, gym, and SAUNA :) Highly recommended.

If someone asked me to pick only one spot in Australia, where I would go back to, then my answer would be the Blue Mountains, without a question. And I would definitely reach out to Ava, Blake and Theo, since I cannot imagine a better spot to discover the area from.

He was quick to lend a hand doing house chores, was tidy and respectful, and also helped with painting and gardening. I had an amazing time staying at Ava's, Blake's and Teo's place. They are a lovely family and I feeled very welcome. Their house is an a perfect location and I could do lots of hikes (even without a car).

They always made me feel part of the family and it's been a really nice cultural exchange for me.
Been on a caming trip with Blake, his brother and Teo🙂 and i was also part of some of Teo's activity at school.

I stayed with my boyfriend for one week at Ava's and Blake's house. They're kid is super funny and cute.
Our job consisted to clean the garden, do some weeding and cook if we wanted to do. We had plenty of time to explore the area, which is beautiful (lot of hikes, waterfalls ...) and the house is AMAZING, especially the view.

We were very lucky to have Lucy come and stay with us for 3 weeks. Her work ethic and attention to detail made her an easy person to host. She did a fantastic job helping us stain our deck, and was excellent with our 4 year old son. She was cheerful, funny and a great housemate. Don't hesitate to host Lucy :)

We absolutely loved having Alice and Nick stay with us. They felt like part of the family by the time they left. They were respectful and kind - and both loving and playful with our 3 year old son.
