Description
We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane.
Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skills or experience in renovating. An electrician, plumber or carpenter would be particularly welcome. Duration can be for a minimum of one week but more normally two to six weeks.
We have hosted over 100 Helpers from 2012 to 2020 in our last home and have enjoyed their company and always had good reviews from them.We are sure you will be safe and happy with us and give you help with your travel plans, buying a vehicle etc. Feel free to ask any questions.

We are an energetic couple who love reading and the house is full of books. We have a sailboat and we can offer a day out sailing. We like sharing different cultures and we're looking for people who are easygoing, nature lovers and non-smoking.

We have several projects including renovating our home, also help in garden. We ask for average of 4 hours work per day [5 day week max]in exchange for good food and accommodation.
we have a big renovation project on - painting sanding, basic carpentry - and we particularly welcome people with electrical, building, carpentry, plastering or plumbing experience.

Home has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes.There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. And we always take our HelpX guests for a sail in our sailboat,

Lamb island itself is a very quiet place with a friendly atmosphere. There are frequent free ferries to the other islands and there are nice beaches and swim zones on the other islands.
