Description
Namaste and Warm Greetings! 🙏
My name is Niranjan, and I am 42 years old. I live in Sitapaila, Kathmandu, close to the famous Swoyambhu Nath (Monkey Temple)—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and near the vibrant Thamel area. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Science, Children’s Psychology, and Nepali Culture from Tribhuvan University. I live with my family, and both of my children study at our school, which makes our work even more meaningful and personal.
Our school was established in 2000 A.D. in Sitapaila and has grown into a warm, community-centered institution. Today, we serve around 400 students with the support of 35 dedicated staff members. Being a true family-run school, each member of my family plays an important role: my parents are the founders and cafeteria in-charge, I work as the managing director, my sister serves as the principal, and my wife manages the school accounts. We offer education from Nursery (age 3) up to Class 10 (age 17), focusing on developing confident, analytical, independent, and socially responsible young citizens of Nepal. Our location is easily accessible, just 5 km from Tribhuvan International Airport, making it convenient for international volunteers and guests.
To support holistic student development, we provide a wide range of learning and extracurricular opportunities. Students participate in dance, music, arts, karate, table tennis, basketball, futsal, and various educational excursions. They also have access to free morning yoga classes near the school. Our facilities include spacious classrooms, hostel buildings, administrative offices, a cafeteria, large playing grounds, and a new earthquake-resistant school building currently under construction.
We warmly welcome volunteers who wish to share their knowledge, creativity, and cultural experiences with our students. Volunteers may teach English or other subjects, conduct creative workshops, support arts and sports activities, help with reading and speaking practice, share cultural insights, or assist with general school tasks. We offer simple and clean accommodation on the school premises, allowing volunteers to live comfortably within our community.
Many of our students come from humble and low-income backgrounds, and we continuously strive to improve their learning environment. To help sustain school resources and provide essential materials such as books, stationery, classroom supplies, art materials, and hygiene items, We would like to kindly clarify that our school does not seek or accept donations from volunteers during their stay. Our program is founded on the spirit of mutual respect, learning, and cultural exchange, and participation involves no financial contribution. Volunteers’ time, skills, and goodwill are already deeply valued and appreciated.
We truly appreciate your understanding and support for our children.
We welcome you with open hearts. If you would like to volunteer, visit, or undertake a project at our school, we would be delighted to host you and help you experience Nepali culture in a warm family environment. Please feel free to contact me anytime.
We look forward to welcoming you into our school family.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Nepal was declared a secular country on 18th May 2006. Major religions practiced here include Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Sikhism, Bon, and animism, with most Nepalis being Hindu or Buddhist. These two religions have co-existed in harmony for centuries, and Buddha is widely respected by both communities.
At our school, volunteers will experience and learn Nepalese culture through interactions with teachers, students, and local activities. We organize cultural programs, dance and music competitions, traditional dress contests, and celebrate major festivals such as Holi, Shivaratri, Buddha Jayanti, Teej, Krishna Astami, Dashain, and Tihar.
Volunteers can choose which classes (1–10) and subjects they wish to teach, allowing for meaningful cultural exchange. As a mid-range school, our students have a wide range of abilities, giving volunteers a true local perspective on education in Nepal.

Aide
We are looking for young, outgoing, and enthusiastic volunteers with a good command of English, as improving students’ English skills is our primary need. However, volunteers speaking other languages are welcome to share their culture and experiences with our students.
Volunteers can contribute in many ways, including:
Teaching English (students’ levels are basic)
Art and craft, drawing murals, painting walls
Music, singing, dancing, basketball, karate
Computing, creating a website or blog
Introducing technology (old laptops, projectors, science kits, robotics, drones, cameras)
Sharing musical instruments or cultural skills
We also welcome volunteers who can connect the school with international NGOs supporting education, scholarships, or infrastructure development.
Class sizes are usually around 20 students, ages 2.5–16 years. Volunteers are free to choose what and how they teach, giving space for creativity and cultural exchange.

Hébergement
We provide accommodation for volunteers within the school, where you will stay as part of our family and experience the Nepalese way of living. Each volunteer will have a separate room with basic facilities, though sometimes rooms may be shared.
All meals are included:
Breakfast (7:00 AM): Nepali tea and biscuits
Lunch (9:15 AM): Daal (bean soup), Bhat (rice), Curry (Tarkari), and Achar (pickle)
Dinner (1:00 PM): Dumplings, noodles, samosas, pakoras, etc., according to the schedule
Tea and coffee are also available on demand. We love cooking authentic Nepali food, giving volunteers a true taste of local flavors.
Autres infos...
Our school is located in the heart of Kathmandu, near Swoyambhu Nath (Monkey Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We are 15 km from Tribhuvan International Airport, in the center of the capital city.
We recommend taking a taxi from the airport, but we can also arrange a private pickup for $20 USD, which many volunteers prefer since Kathmandu traffic and streets can be busy and confusing.
Our team is young, friendly, and English-speaking, and we look forward to welcoming you and hosting you in our school family.
