Description
From the 1st of August 2025 I will take a break from being a Workaway host. A big warm thank You to all my workawayers through the years! :) Being a host is a great opportunity to meet interesting people and share knowledge, experience and ideas. When the time is right I will welcome workawayers again ☺️

Independent, friendly and self going people with a sincere interest in culture and travelling are welcome here. See the beautiful area around Bodø while helping out in my house and garden.
Bodø is the "capital" of the county of Nordland, with a central airport for the area, a university, concert hall, fantastic library etc. It is beautifully located on a peninsula overlooking the fjord and the surrounding mountains. The popular Lofoten Islands can be easily reached from Bodø with a direct ferry connection. It takes about 3 hours to get to the Moskenes Island where you'll find the beautiful and most photograped fishing village - Reine.
2025:
A new lawn is finished with plants, flowers and stones in front of the house. Sanding and cleaning of existing drywall and orher maintenance like cleaning and painting outside.

I want you to get the most out of your stay here. We discuss what to do and when together, and plan your time off so that you get the best possible stay according to weather and wishes. Why work on a sunny Monday if you know Saturday is going to be grey and wet? Then we swap instead. I love cooking and appreciate sharing ideas and making food together. His Majesty King Mingus, my wonderful cat, also lives here - so you have to be cool with cats.

Yasmin came to the rescue when I needed help quickly in my new front garden, taking away weed, roots and branches and establishing a new lawn before it gets to late in the autumn. She also helped me with renewing an old drywall made of stone, and chores in the house. She is a very easy going person and pleasant to be around.

Besides some work in the garden and a little painting I have been able to explore Bodø and surroundings. Flavia had a two days available between her stay in Lofoten before she was moving on to Trondheim. She contacted me to hear if I needed some last minute help. After being away on holiday for several weeks my garden looked like a jungle, and she helped me get rid of the weed. She was great help and a very pleasant person to be around!
