  Description

  Hello I'm Sonya, I live in a beautiful rural area of Lombardy in the north of Italy. It's an undiscovered part of the country in the hills in the province of Pavia, between MIlan and Genova. The area is characterised by vineyards, small hilltop villages and castles, giving way to the magnificent Appenine mountain range towards Genova and the coast. There are many places to walk here, whether on country roads or on longer hikes in the mountains. Just half an hour from Pavia, a lovely medieval city, and one hour from Milan and from Genova. The nearest station is about 15 minutes away. I can pick you up from the station.
  I am originally from Scotland but have lived in Italy for 30 years with my family who are now living in other countries. I am a shiatsu practitioner and teacher, and I also teach English. I am vegetarian and enjoy a simple meditative life, walking in beautiful places, Tai Chi , new and old friends, animals, music, art and film....
  
  I have two pets, Bruno is an adorable old Beagle who sleeps most of the day, and Molly is his best friend, a sweet black cat who also spends a lot of time curled up in her basket in front of the wood burning stove.
  
  They need warmth and affection in their big old country house.

  There are local Christmas festivities in the area and local craft and farmers markets. Their are many restaurants offering traditional regional dishes and of course abundant local wines! The nearest town is a 7 minute drive away (car available for local runs) with many cafes and popular markets on Wednesdays and Sundays.

  Aide

  I need someone to look after my dog and cat, feed them and keep them company, keep the house warm (main source of heating are wood stoves, I try to avoid using central heating unless the temperature drops seriously ...). I will be away for 8-9 days from 23 to 31 December so you will have the house to yourself or yourselves if a couple. It would be important that you could come on Saturday 21 or Sunday 22 at the latest so that I can show you how everything works and introduce you to the animals of course. Watering the plants and keeping the house in order are the daily requirements.

  Hébergement

  There is a single bedroom with a bathroom on the same floor. I will provide some food staples such as pasta, rice , beans (I am vegetarian), and I will leave some vegetables and bread for some days. You will have to cook for yourself obviously. It would be best if you know how to use wood burning stoves.

  There is almost no public transport so my car is available for shopping and use in the local area. Neighbours can give help and advice while I am away.
