La mia prima esperienza come Workawayer e´stata a dir poco pessima . Il fatto che non parlavo inglese e´stato per loro un problema e per me discriminante . Ho chiesto a Claudia se avesse letto il mio profilo dove specificavo che sono di madrelingua italiana , parlo un buon francese , e un po´di tedesco , ma non mi e´stata data una spiegazione
… read more plausibile di aver accettato la mia richiesta di ospitalita´ E questo non e´corretto dato come sono stata trattata . Il vitto era scarso e non buono . Sconsiglio a tutti gli italiani che non parlano inglese di andarci . E consiglio a Claudia di leggere i profili la prossima volta onde evitare di far spendere dei soldi per nulla a persone che partono entusiaste e poi si trovano davanti il muro delle barriere culturali solo perche´non parlano inglese . My experience in Gaja's Welt was nice, I spent really great moment with the family and the team. Everybody is definitely friendly :)
The little village of Ebnisee is close to the lake and surrounded by lot of hiking, that was a real pleasure to spend time in this countryside.

Gaja's Welt and Ebni are really special places! I stayed only 16 days but learned so much about local cuisine, culture, and a little language, lol. Claudia and her family are so welcoming and really make you feel at home. Ania is so dedicated to her work in the kitchen and I learned so much from her. I am really grateful for this experience. The
… read more day is perfectly balanced with equal amounts of work and rest. Be prepared to work hard and fast in the restaurant and get your hands dirty! It's great and if you like working with food you can learn lots. If you don't speak German it can be a bit tough to understand but everyone tries hard to communicate and you'll get by and learn how things work quickly. The village is very, very small so not ideal if you get bored easily but if you love nature and hiking or cycling you will never want to leave. I had a good time with Claudia in the beautiful village of Ebni. I was able to learn about traditional Schwäbish cuisine transformed by vegan ideals.
The work was fair, very organised as according to opening hours, and the food was tasty as expected. The surrounding area has some nice trails, especially gorgeous covered in fresh snow, and a calm
… read more lake nearby. There are some villages/towns nearby with interesting sights too.

Having Xavier at our place was great! He was such a good help and supported us not only in the kitchen but wherever it was necessary. Xavier works quickly, smart and independent and it was so good to have someone who´s constantly thinking. Especially before and durning the summer festival he was such an essential help.

What a great experience for my first Workaway! I felt very welcomed by the whole family and staff, even the cats (my favorite is definitely Raja). Small village indeed, but very central, good location to explore surroundings cities (Schwabisch Hall, Schorndorf, Stuttgart, Tubingen, etc) with my car. Also some great hiking around. I was working mostly in the kitchen (my German was not so good to talk with guests ;) ). Was there from end of april till beginning of june and went back to help for the Sommerfest end of june, that was cool!
