Description
Our language school is located in Puerto Ayora; the largest town in the Galapagos Islands. The school provides a very open, personable and enjoyable atmosphere. We have been teaching English to the local community since 2010, and we have students of all different ages from 3 years and up. We also teach French, German and Spanish.
Our team is made of up a range of teachers from all over the world, each one bringing something unique to the table in terms of what we offer our students.
We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers, who want to join our team for a few weeks to assist in classes and leave their mark on our lively school.

The Galapagos is an incredible place to visit, and an even more incredible place to live in. Volunteering with us allows travellers to really understand the ins and outs of island life; the community, the culture, the environment...
Volunteers have a lot of free time, and the work is by no means physically strenuous (as long as you can handle some classroom dancing), giving the perfect opportunity to experience the island.
Professionally, the volunteers get the opporrunity to assist and learn from some tremendously creative and dedicated teachers, and also have the opportunity to use their ideas in the classroom.

Aide
The help we need is assisting our teachers or covering classes when necessary. Experience teaching is a bonus, as is having a Teaching certificate like CELTA, TEFL, Tesol, etc. Our students are people from the community, mainly children. We work from 9-10 am and 3-8pm, Monday-Friday.

A trip to the Galapagos Islands is considered the trip of lifetime. Located 1,000 km from the Ecuadorian mainland, the archipelago consists of 13 major islands, 5 of which are inhabited.
The only way to get to the Galapagos Islands is to fly from Quito the capital of Ecuador, or Guayaquil, the biggest city in the country, located in the coastal region (you cannot get to the islands by sea).
The flying time might vary between 1h45 minutes - 3h30 minutes, depending whether you are flying from Quito or Guayaquil.

We loved volunteering at this language school! It gave us the great opportunity to meet people from the community and experience Puerto Ayora from a less touristy perspective. The work load was light enough to allow time to explore the island and the host was very helpful with any questions we had!

I had a great time here! The students, management and other teachers are all lovely and really welcoming. I was teaching 4-5 classes a day when I was there, which can be a lot of work, but they started at 3/4pm so I had a few hours before to go to the beach or explore the island.
