Description
From march : I'm looking for someone that will stay at least 1 month and focus on goats caring + wood work + gardening
Only for experienced people with goats !
Hi everybody!
I'm Florence and I live in Broissia, a small village in Jura Region with about 50 inhabitants. I live with my son and my housemate, friend and previous workawayer Lorette, + 15 chickens, 8 goats, 1 dog, and a donkey.
Emile, the co-owner of the house is currently living abroad so wont't be there all year.
After 4 years work to renovate the house, the project for 2025 is to increase our self sufficiency with a vegetable garden and goat cheese making. Meanwhile i'm studying law this year + work as school assistant that's why i'm looking for someone who already work with goats and likes to work on it's own.
I was travelling around Europe and volunteering in many projects, eco-farms, wwoofing, collective projects, education, etc. I also led youth exchanges, training, framed in erasmus +, so im quite used and passioned by intercultural exchange, human relations.
I choose this lifestyle to live in the nature, eat my own cheese, build my home and host people from the world. I'm someone really active and quite extraverted.
WHO AM I LOOKING FOR
I need support with the goats + gardening : I look for trustful, autonomous, hard working and experienced workawayers that would be eager to stay at least 1 month.
I look for people eager to learn and discover from my lifestyle, that is based on environmental awareness and degrowth. I enjoy people that has initiatives, that agree to work by its own as well than in a group. I greatly enjoy people with sense of humor.
I wish to share my home with people who agree to contribute as well and besides working hours by cooking, cleanup, getting the dry toilet bucket out, ... It's very important to us to feel that the everyday life missions are taken in charge by everybody.
I had many wonderful experiences with workawayers but also few negative ones due to lack of maturity and idealistic image of the rural life, so please detailed your application and we ll have phone calls to discuss further.
A typical day :
8 am goats's breakfast
10 am lead goats to the field
10 to 12 am, gardening or other

The village is isolated from public transportation. 4km away is a small town with small shop, pharmacy, bibliothèque, second hand shop.
The house is nicely located nearby the river Suran where we like to swim in summer.
During your free time, you can hike around, enjoy parties or local events. For your trip around we have 2 bikes, a donkey and 2 packgoats. There's a local carpooling network.Informations complémentaires
