Description
Hello Family, thank you for stopping by our profile.
Iam called Cosmas and I belong to one of the oldest traditional farmers in Kamba land Makueni County, along Nairobi- Mombasa Road, near Mtito-Andei, just a round 10 mins drive to the Tsavo West & East National Park.
In our farm we grow our own food and share some vegetable and water to the villagers who sometimes comes to give a helping hand.
Since three years now I have come back from traveling and I have taken over the leadership of the farm from my dead parents, my two sisters are living abroad sends the support big time. This is a mixed Race community, we do not encourange any type of discrimination, we are all human and we rule out that we are the same and we live together as a one big family.
I live with my wife and our four grown-up children who are working in the city. We have also close relatives who comes and go when ever the want.
By the way we are very remote, we have no WIFI, you have to buy your own sim card from Safaricom or Airtail, for pay as you go.and we normaly like taking mature people, may be a pair will be helpful, .
people who likes using their body and dose not mind getting dirty . We would like also people we could trust who are comfortable to take care of the farm if I go away.
We have two helpers not employee whom I have trained a year a go and they decided to stay and we have accepted them as part of the family , when there is a lot to be done then our friendly helping community takes over
We, me and my younger three sisters have inherited this farm from our parents.
We are the third generation in hosting volunteer from East Africa.
Our parents had hosted only young school age boys aged from 10yrs whom they sponsored to go school .
We only host muture young people age from 25, those who want to learn farming so we freely train them in our farm.
Our farm is a magnet to people our parents left the doors open to travelers and we follow their footsteps, we are very welcoming and tha communities are realy accommodating.
Being near the Tsavo National, the Kilanguni park and Momba beaches these makes both our visitors and volunteers want to remain forever.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Normally I like sitting down with any new comer and let them say what they can or done and what they can not or never done.
In our farm we work as a team, and we learn from each other. At the moment we are not very busy but there is always things to be done like care for animals, we keep goat and sheep for meat
If there is some one out there who has some skills on organic farming please feel free to apply!
Because the sun gets extrem very hot early we like starting a bit early in the morning 8am before breakfast then
at 9am we take our breakfast, most of our breakfast is traditional Cassava or Sweet potatoes or pumpkin, Madazi some egg pan-cake from our chicken, with tea we have also coffee for those who prefers it. We eat three time a day . We always discuss what we will be eating the next day, from Ungali or Sima, cooked banana, rice, maize and beans, chapati. We eat more veggies than meat, we eat our chicken meat and once a month we slaughter either a goat or sheep.
We have ripe banana, passion fruits, etc for snacks between meals.
Our kitchen is always open for our guests, you can cook what you like. If you have any wish of food different from what we are eating feel free to say, this will be your farm your home too..Langues
