🌿 Welcome to our home in Frosta, Norway
We want you to feel safe and at home with us! We are an open-minded family who value honesty, curiosity, and authenticity. You don’t have to be like us, we truly appreciate differences and want to create a space where everyone can be themselves.

We’re not super ambitious or running a strict schedule; we simply do our best to live, learn, and create a good life. We don’t expect you to be a “super human” either, just come as you are and bring your willingness to help and share.

    🏡 About us
We are a small family of three living in Frosta, Norway, about one hour north of Trondheim.

My husband is a musician who plays shamanic folk rock. He’s deeply interested in mythology, philosophy, and spirituality — I like to call him a Trønder wizard! He also works at the local school.
I am at home with our daughter, who is two years old. I would describe myself as a good witch or medicine woman — I love cooking, creativity, and connecting with people. I have Sámi and Amazigh roots.
We are social but also enjoy quiet days. Sometimes we host concerts or gatherings, other times we stay home, cook, make art, or just eat pizza.

🌄 Why we love our home and local area

We absolutely love living in Frosta. Our home is surrounded by forest, fields, and the sea, giving us a peaceful, rural lifestyle. There are plenty of hiking trails, mushroom-picking spots, and beautiful places to explore. The sea is just a short walk from our house, perfect for walks, swimming, or just enjoying the view.

We enjoy living close to nature and the seasons, growing our own food in the garden and greenhouse, and wants to keep chickens one day. Frosta is small and calm, but Trondeim is just an hour away by train, giving access to city life, culture, and shopping if you want a change of pace.

We also love the sense of history and culture here my husband can share stories about the Ting, local history, and little known facts about humanity’s past. Our home is a mix of creativity, spirituality, and everyday life, and we hope volunteers will enjoy both learning and contributing to this unique environment.

🌍 Cultural exchange at our place

We see hosting as a two-way exchange — not only will you help us, but we hope to share our knowledge, skills, and way of life with you, and also learn from your experiences and culture.

At our home, you can expect to:

Connect socially: spend time with our family, join in meals, help with creative or practical projects, and participate in small local activities.

Learn practical skills together: gardening, cooking, baking, herbal medicine, DIY, upcycling, sourdough, fermentation, and other creative crafts. We are learning ourselves, so it’s a shared experience rather than formal instruction.

Explore spiritual and creative practices: shamanic and intuitive approaches, arts, and personal development.

Enjoy nature and the local area: explore forests, trails, the sea, and experience the calm rural lifestyle of Frosta.

We also love learning from our volunteers — whether it’s skills, ideas, traditions, or just seeing the world from a new perspective. Hosting people from different cultures helps us grow, reflect, and expand our understanding of life, creativity, and community.

🌄 Things to do in the area

Explore Frosta: walking trails, forest paths, and seaside walks. Enjoy the calm rural life and nature.

Tautra Island: visit the monastery ruins and see rich birdlife.

Gardens and local farms: pick berries, learn about small-scale gardening, and experience local agriculture.

Outdoor activities: hiking, mushroom picking, and seasonal tasks like snow shoveling or lawn care.

Levanger: stroll through the charming wooden town center, hike Hårskallen mountain, or explore nearby islands like Ytterøya.

Stjørdal: hike Forbordsfjellet for beautiful views, visit Steinvikholm Castle, or enjoy horseback riding in nature.

Trondheim: explore the city, Nidaros Cathedral, Bakklandet old town, museums, cafés, cultural events, and fjord boat trips.
