    Description

Hey! I'm Dawn, an American-Panamanian living in the highlands of Chiriquí, Panama with my husband Raymond and our two little girls. We have had our beautiful farm for over five years and are looking to become more intentional with it.

About an hour from where we live sits our farm (with wifi) near San Andrés -- a hectare oasis where if it can grow, it does. The area is known for its rich, dark soil, and the land shows it. We have typically rotated corn, rice, and beans, and the property is also home to avocados, manzana de agua, oranges, mamoncillos, bananas, plátanos, guanábanas and I'm probably missing a few.

It's already abundant, and we're ready to take it further.

We're in the process of transitioning the farm toward syntropic farming and a true food forest -- something layered, and alive in a way that works with the land. We also have two horses out there and a vision to eventually turn the space into a personal retreat, not a business, just a place for rest, reconnection, and good food grown by hand.

A trusted friend and is there to help orient you and answer the day-to-day questions. Our family lives about an hour away and are currently focused close to home while our eldest daughter is going through chemo treatment, so we need someone who can hold the space with care and good judgment when we can't be there in person.

If you love the idea of working with the land, are curious about regenerative agriculture, and get energized by a project that's still taking shape, this might be a really good fit. It's a peaceful space, just right for someone looking for autonomy and experience to work with their hands, at their own pace as well as help care for the horses.

We're looking for someone honest, communicative, and a big dreamer. Come ready to dig in and get curious with us!

San Andrés sits in some of Panama's most fertile countryside, inside a community where farming isn't a lifestyle choice, it's just life. Your neighbors have been working this soil for generations. That knowledge is right there if you're curious enough to ask.

You'll pick up Spanish fast out here if you don't have it. You'll learn what things are actually called, how they grow, and how to cook them. A lot of what you tend on the farm, you'll eat.

Panama is a genuinely biodiverse country with a food culture tied directly to the land, and Chiriquí is one of the best examples of that. It's also largely off the tourist path, which means what you experience here is real.

We're a bicultural family, American and Panamanian, and happy to help you understand how things work here, what to expect, and how to connect with the community around the farm.

    Aide

Horse care -- feeding, basic grooming, and keeping an eye on their wellbeing. You don't need to be an expert, but you do need to be comfortable around animals and willing to learn.

Food forest and syntropic farming help -- this could look like planting, mulching, observing, maintaining, and helping us slowly build out a more intentional growing system. If you already know syntropic farming, amazing. If you're just curious about it, that works too. We don't sell the crops, so you're welcome to eat off of them!

General farm maintenance -- the land is abundant but it needs tending. Weeding, clearing, watering, and whatever else the property is asking for that week.

Harvesting and caring for what's already growing -- there's a lot of it, and it deserves attention.

And honestly, just being present and paying attention. Our trusted friend on site will help orient you, but a big part of what we need is someone who notices things, takes initiative, and communicates when something needs addressing.

This is not a high-pressure environment. It's a peaceful, beautiful piece of land that needs someone who will treat it that way.
