    Description

I am Ullas Kumar and I am a volunteer consultant for an Ashram in Varkala, Kerala. I have been associated with and have studied at the Ashram for several years. As a young boy I attended with my mother and father and was attracted by the Guru's vision. I'm currently a yoga, meditation and philosophy teacher in Varkala, India. I am on a volunteer mission to help the male residents of the Ashram learn English.

The message of the Ashram is the oneness of humanity as taught by Sri Narayana Guru and established in 1904. The Ashram is located on a peaceful hilltop surrounded by nature. It is a peaceful place to meditate and take some time away from busy life and observe the inner silence. Revered guests included Mahatma Gandhi, Tagora (the first nobel peace prize winner in Asia) and Romain Roland.

This is an immersion teaching in Indian spiritual culture in an atmosphere of a historic ashram that is internationally recognized and an integral part of the local community. This is the headquarters and the heart of the movement established in 1904. We believe in one world and one family and welcome visitors to participate in as many community and social activities as they choose. We are excited to learn and practice the English language with workawayers.
